The Leopard 5 is the first model from BYD’s Fangchengbao brand. It is a new-energy midsize SUV built on BYD’s DMO Super Hybrid Off-Road Platform and is positioned in the market as a rugged off-road vehicle.

Exterior Design

The Fangchengbao Leopard 5 is a large plug-in hybrid hardcore SUV, equipped with a polygonal front grille and full LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with vertical LED taillight groups and off-road style rear bumper trim. Multiple body color options are available. The vehicle adopts 18-inch and 20-inch wheel configurations for different versions. Partial versions are fitted with roof-mounted lidar sensors and conventional door handles. A panoramic sunroof is equipped as standard.
The vehicle adopts a 5-door 5-seater layout. The body dimensions are 4890 mm in length, 1970 mm in width and 1920 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2800 mm. Electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and electric tailgate are standard configurations.

Interior Design

The vehicle is equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster and a central floating touchscreen. Multiple interior color schemes are available, matched with leather upholstery and metallic decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning. An electronic gear shift lever is equipped as standard.
Standard configurations include front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera and constant-speed cruise control. Keyless entry and one-key start functions are standard. High-spec versions are equipped with 360-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system. The vehicle supports wireless phone charging and OTA upgrade functions.

Powertrain

The Fangchengbao Leopard 5 adopts four-wheel drive layout, equipped with a 1.5T inline four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine and permanent magnet synchronous electric motors, matched with E-CVT transmission. The engine delivers a maximum power of 143 kW. The system comprehensive maximum power is 505 kW with a peak torque of 760 Nm.
The vehicle is equipped with a 47.8 kWh blade lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The CLTC pure electric cruising range covers 125 km and 210 km for different versions, with a CLTC comprehensive cruising range up to 1200 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging and AC slow charging functions, with 30%-80% fast charging completed in 15 minutes. The vehicle is equipped with energy recovery system and intelligent body control system.
