Exterior Design
The Changan CS55 PLUS adopts Changan’s latest “Vertical and Vertical Universe” design language, featuring a boundless grille with parametric 点阵 elements arranged like a starry sky, creating a strong sense of futurism. It is equipped with three-section through-type LED daytime running lights with an inverted-L shape on both sides, which are highly noticeable when illuminated. The headlights adopt a vertical layout with a shield-shaped light curtain composed of 24 LED beads, delivering excellent lighting performance—with a high beam range of 150 meters and a low beam range of 55 meters, significantly enhancing nighttime driving safety.
The side body features sharp character lines that convey a youthful and sporty stance. It comes standard with 18-inch wheels, while higher trims are upgraded to 19-inch alloy wheels with cable-inspired spokes that reduce driving noise for a balance of aesthetics and practicality. The rear features a Bridge Shadow Light Chain LED taillight, a 1.2-meter-long through-type 灯带 composed of 198 high-performance LEDs and 22 columnar thick-wall LEDs, ensuring exceptional recognition at night. The roof is equipped with a rear spoiler and high-mounted stop light, complemented by a bilateral exhaust layout for a more dynamic look. The body offers a choice of Moonlight White, Star Diamond Black, Dynamic Red, Atomic Gray, and Shadow Gray, with an 8-layer painting process for a premium finish.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,550 mm in length, 1,868 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,656 mm. The optimized overhangs and smooth body lines create a spacious and coordinated layout, with a drag coefficient of 0.33Cd for improved aerodynamic efficiency. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, enhancing storage flexibility and easily converting to accommodate cargo or camping needs.
Interior Design
The interior of the Changan CS55 PLUS features a dual-screen setup—a 10-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch floating central touchscreen—delivering a sharp, high-definition visual experience and seamless information interaction. The center console is tilted 7° toward the driver’s seat, and the cockpit adopts a “Love Symbiosis” design concept, creating a driver-focused environment.
The interior color schemes include Smoked Black + Khaki Gray, Smoked Black + Fiery Red, and Black, catering to personalized preferences. High-quality materials such as Nappa leather seats are used, with the co-pilot seat offering a queen-style massage function for enhanced comfort. The steering wheel is a new three-spoke design with a solid grip, and physical buttons are minimized for a clean, minimalist look. The innovative column shifter design frees up space in the center console, providing a larger storage area and dual cup holders for added convenience.
In terms of features, the entry-level 500Bar Excellence model comes standard with 19-inch rims, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, cruise control, a 540-degree panoramic image, and 4-speaker audio. The higher-spec 500Bar model adds ACC adaptive cruise, LDW lane departure warning, FCW forward collision warning, lane centering, intelligent emergency braking, speed limit recognition, a 6-speaker audio system, front seat heating, a power tailgate, and exterior mirror folding. It also supports AI voice interaction, 4G connectivity, and real-time navigation, delivering a smart and user-friendly driving experience.
Powertrain
The Changan CS55 PLUS offers two powertrain options: a 1.5T gasoline version and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version.
The gasoline version is powered by the New Blue Whale 500Bar ultra-high pressure direct injection engine, delivering a maximum power of 141 kW (192 hp) and peak torque of 310 N·m (1,500–4,100 rpm). It is matched with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, ensuring smooth gear shifts and efficient power delivery长安汽车. The WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is 6.94 L/100 km, with a fuel tank capacity of 55 L, enabling a range of over 1,000 km on a full tank.
The PHEV version is equipped with the New Blue Whale 3.0 plug-in hybrid system (P1+P3 dual-motor layout), consisting of a 1.5L engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The system delivers a combined maximum power of 230 hp and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. It is paired with an E-CVT continuously variable transmission. The vehicle comes standard with a CATL lithium iron phosphate battery pack (18.4 kWh), offering a CLTC pure electric range of 125 km and a combined range of 1,215 km. The WLTC feed-in fuel consumption is as low as 5.22 L/100 km, and fast charging can replenish 30–80% of the battery in approximately 19 minutes. It supports multiple driving modes, including intelligent, pure electric, and hybrid modes, adapting to various driving scenarios such as daily commuting and long-distance travel.
