Exterior Design

The AUDI E5 Sportback largely retains the futuristic style and modern elements of the concept car. The entire front fascia is closed off, with the four-ring logo of the gasoline-powered brand replaced by the AUDI emblem embedded in a black strip structure, which is also illuminated. This black strip structure is actually a wraparound design integrated with the daytime running lights and headlights, with matrix LED headlights hidden within, and dynamic daytime running lights concealed within the body panels.

From the side, the AUDI E5 Sportback showcases its hatchback body structure. Its dimensions of 4881/1960/1479mm (data from the AUDI website) emphasize the vehicle’s wide-body style, reminiscent of a sports coupe. The extremely short front and rear overhangs result in a long wheelbase of 2950mm, further expanding the interior space. Furthermore, the vehicle’s SUV-like floating roof design, all-black window trim, and wide black side skirts at the bottom of the doors accentuate the slender waistline, further highlighting its sporty profile. Furthermore, the doors feature a fully electric, silent frameless design and support facial recognition entry via the B-pillar.

The AUDI E5 Sportback’s rear end, due to its unibody hatchback design, appears structurally quite substantial. The central taillights echo the front’s closed-off wraparound light strip design. Notably, its digital taillights, like the front, have numerous tiny light beads hidden within the body panel outside the black wraparound structure, enabling dynamic combination lighting and high visibility.

Interior Design

Stepping into the cabin, the AUDI E5 Sportback features a unified, continuous screen, measuring 59 inches and creating an eight-screen interconnected system. The driver’s side features a three-spoke, two-tone steering wheel with a separate digital instrument cluster, while the passenger side has a unified display screen. Independent rearview displays are also provided at both ends depending on the electronic rearview mirror configuration.

Meanwhile, the new AUDI OS system will be supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip and will feature Audi’s voice assistant, powered by Volcano Engine and iFlytek dual voice technology, providing dynamic interactive effects in the digital display below the screen. Furthermore, a touch-sensitive design is integrated near the wireless charging pad on the armrest, allowing for customized quick control of vehicle functions. The entire cabin, in terms of both digitalization and personalization, is extremely “new force” in its design.

The AUDI E5 Sportback is the first to use a three-dimensional solid wood trim structure in the door panels, while the center console is primarily made of suede. Interactive ambient lighting is subtly integrated in multiple areas. Features such as a 5-level adjustable intelligent panoramic sunroof, an intelligent fragrance system, and a BOSE surround sound system further enhance the cabin’s luxurious atmosphere. In addition, the seats feature a one-piece sporty design, offering heating/ventilation/massage functions, and utilize Audi’s classic suede and leather blend. However, the material selection is not the Dinamica + Valcona combination used in Audi’s gasoline-powered vehicles, but rather a combination of suede and Nappa leather.

Powertrain

The AUDI E5 Sportback is supported by the ADP platform, achieving coverage of the 800V high-voltage platform. The dual-motor version delivers a total power of 579kW (787Ps), and with the quattro intelligent all-wheel-drive system, it can help the vehicle accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Simultaneously, the vehicle offers a pure electric range of over 770km, and can achieve an additional 370km of range with just 10 minutes of charging.
