The Trumpchi EMPOW55, also known as the Trumpchi Yingbao, The EMPOW55, which made its public debut at the 2020 Guangzhou International Auto Show, is built on GAC Trumpchi’s GPMA (GAC Global Platform Modular Architecture) platform. As the first sports sedan developed on this platform, it is positioned in the compact segment and features a drag coefficient as low as 0.26.

Exterior Design

The GAC Trumpchi Empow is a compact sedan, equipped with a sport front grille and full LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with LED taillight groups and rear bumper trim. Multiple body color options are available. The vehicle adopts 17-inch and 19-inch wheel configurations for different versions. Conventional door handles are equipped as standard. A panoramic sunroof is equipped for partial versions.
The vehicle adopts a 4-door 5-seater sedan layout. The body dimensions are 4753 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1432 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2736 mm. Electrically adjustable exterior mirrors with heating and automatic folding functions are equipped for different versions. Partial versions are equipped with rear spoiler and double exhaust decorative trim.

Interior Design

The vehicle is equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster and central control touchscreen. Multiple interior color schemes are available, matched with fabric and leather upholstery and metallic decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and automatic constant temperature air conditioning. An electronic gear shift lever is equipped as standard.
Standard configurations include front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera and constant-speed cruise control. Keyless entry and one-key start functions are standard. High-spec versions are equipped with 540-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system. The vehicle supports vehicle network connection and OTA upgrade functions. Partial versions are equipped with sport integrated seats and multi-speaker audio system.

Powertrain

The GAC Trumpchi Empow adopts front-wheel drive layout. The 1.5T version is matched with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, equipped with a 1.5T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 130 kW and a peak torque of 270 Nm. The 2.0T version is matched with 8-speed automatic transmission, equipped with a 2.0T inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 195 kW and a peak torque of 400 Nm.
The vehicle meets China VI emission standards. The vehicle adopts front MacPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension system. The vehicle is equipped with multiple driving mode adjustment functions and steering mode adjustment functions.
