Exterior Design
The NIO ET5 adopts a dynamic and sleek design language that inherits the brand’s second-generation family-style aesthetics, combining sporty coupe charm with advanced technological sense, featuring a sharp Shark Nose front fascia with a closed grille that highlights its pure electric identity. It is equipped with iconic thickened Double Dash LED daytime running lights paired with standard ADB intelligent multi-beam LED headlights, which can work with lidar to adjust the light range intelligently and enhance night driving safety, and stylish through-type LED taillights that echo the front lights, forming a coherent and unified design language. The rear is equipped with a sporty ducktail spoiler, which not only enhances the overall sporty appeal but also optimizes aerodynamic performance, paired with hidden electric door handles, flush side windows and a smooth fastback silhouette to further reduce wind resistance, achieving a low drag coefficient of 0.24Cd. The vehicle comes standard with 20-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the higher-spec version or special editions are equipped with 20-inch multi-spoke smoked alloy wheels, and the body is available in multiple color options, including exclusive Star Green for the special edition, as well as Cloud White, Deep Space Black, Star Gray and other trendy colors to meet diverse user preferences.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,790 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,499 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,888 mm. Its well-proportioned mid-size luxury coupe posture and sleek sloping roof lines create a dynamic and elegant appearance, perfectly balancing sporty aesthetics and practicality. It adopts a 4-door 5-seat layout, with a spacious and flat interior floor that maximizes the use of space. The vehicle is equipped with a practical front trunk, and the standard rear trunk space is ample enough to easily accommodate daily necessities, travel luggage and small outdoor equipment, meeting the diverse needs of daily commuting, weekend trips and long-distance family travels. The long wheelbase also ensures ample legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers, enhancing riding comfort, and the 50:50 front and rear axle load distribution further improves driving stability.
Interior Design
The NIO ET5 features a luxurious and comfortable wrap-around cockpit design, equipped with a 10.2-inch HDR digital instrument cluster, an 18.8-inch W-HUD head-up display and a 15.6-inch 3K AMOLED central touchscreen, forming an intelligent interactive design that delivers a concise and high-tech visual experience. It operates smoothly supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip, NIO self-developed Cedar S 1.4.6 intelligent system and the Cedar S ADAM central computing platform with a self-developed Shenji NX9031 chip, providing powerful computing power for intelligent interaction and driving assistance. Interior color schemes include multiple themes, including exclusive combinations for special editions, paired with large-area high-grade Nappa leather wrapping, high-quality fabric materials and exquisite metal trim, creating a luxurious, comfortable and layered cockpit atmosphere that caters to young and high-end users’ preferences. It is also equipped with a large-size intelligent dimming panoramic sunroof, which brings a more open and comfortable visual experience to the cockpit.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with a sporty three-spoke steering wheel, ergonomic 11-layer structured Nappa leather seats, dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds a 360-degree panoramic camera, 64-color ambient light, an enhanced 7.1.4-channel immersive audio system, dual 50W wireless charging areas, as well as high-level intelligent driving assistance systems including full-scene navigation-assisted driving (supported by high-precision sensors including a 300-line equivalent lidar), supporting multiple complex driving scenarios and enhancing convenience and safety. It also has 14-way electric adjustable front seats, both with heating, ventilation and massage functions, and the rear seats support 40:60 split folding, providing a comfortable riding experience for all passengers.
Powertrain
The NIO ET5 is a pure electric mid-size luxury coupe based on the NIO NT2 platform, equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system composed of a 150kW front induction asynchronous motor and a 210kW rear permanent magnet synchronous motor. The comprehensive power output reaches 360 kW and the peak torque is 700 N·m, paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with smooth power output and an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.0 seconds, presenting outstanding sporty performance. It is equipped with NIO’s self-developed high-performance four-piston calipers and integrated IDB brake control system, ensuring linear braking feel and excellent braking performance, with a 100-0 km/h braking distance of only 33.9 km/h, and has a maximum top speed of 200 km/h.
The vehicle is available with three lithium battery pack options: 75 kWh, 100 kWh and 150 kWh, corresponding to CLTC pure electric ranges of 585 km, 740 km and 1055 km respectively. It supports fast charging, slow charging and battery swapping functions, with a peak charging power of up to 180 kW, which can supplement 250 km of range in 10 minutes of fast charging, and can be charged from 30% to 80% in about 36 minutes. It also supports 3-minute automatic fast battery swapping, which is faster than refueling. It is equipped with CDC dynamic suspension damping control system and rear subframe hydraulic bushings as standard, with multiple suspension hardware optimizations, and is also equipped with EP Mode driving modes including daily, mountain road, track, drift and catapult, perfectly balancing power performance, energy efficiency and driving comfort.
