Exterior Design
The Dongfeng eπ 007 adheres to the design philosophy of “Simplicity to Perfection, Extremity to Beauty” and has won the 2024 Red Dot Product Design Award, positioning itself as a medium-sized pure electric liftback coupe tailored for young users and family commuting. It features a sleek and low-lying front fascia with a closed grille, which not only highlights its new energy identity but also optimizes aerodynamic performance, paired with a concave bumper design to enhance the three-dimensional sense of light and shadow. The split-type LED headlights are the highlight of the front face: the upper LED daytime running lights have sharp and smooth lines, while the lower high and low beam lights are embedded above the air guide ports on both sides of the front bumper, composed of 104 LED light sources, and equipped with four unique light language modes (Welcome, Charging, Romantic, and Combat) to add a sense of ritual to getting on and off the car. The side of the body adopts a smooth fastback line extending from the front to the rear, combined with hidden door handles, optimizing the integrity of the body lines and reducing wind resistance. After refined optimization of 23 aerodynamic components, it achieves an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.209Cd, which is outstanding among models of the same level. The 19-inch starlight sporty wheels with two-color design, matched with red or blue calipers, enhance the sporty temperament, and the electric rear spoiler can automatically rise and retract according to the vehicle speed, balancing sportiness and practicality. The rear is equipped with a “Sky Lattice” through-type LED taillight composed of 268 LED light sources, echoing the front headlights, and the hidden exhaust layout conforms to the simple design concept of new energy vehicles. The body is available in multiple color options including Electric Royal Purple (user-co-created), Starry Night Black, Aurora Blue and Glacier White, among which the Electric Royal Purple has a gradient effect under sunlight, catering to the personalized aesthetic needs of young consumers.
In terms of dimensions, the Dongfeng eπ 007 offers three size options according to different configurations, with a length of 4,880 mm or 4,890 mm, a width of 1,895 mm or 1,915 mm, and a height of 1,470 mm or 1,476 mm, and all models have a wheelbase of 2,915 mm. As a 5-door 5-seat liftback coupe, its 2,915 mm wheelbase ensures ample interior space. Even when three adults are seated in the rear row, there is no sense of crowding, and the flat floor design further improves the comfort of the middle passenger. The vehicle adopts a liftback design, with a conventional trunk volume of 452L to 490L, which can easily accommodate luggage and daily necessities. The rear seats support 40/60 split-folding, and the expanded volume can reach 1,026L to 1,090L, which can even hold large items such as road bikes, providing strong practicality for travel and daily use.
Interior Design
The interior of the Dongfeng eπ 007 adopts a Chinese-style symmetrical design, integrating a tech-luxury style with practicality. The center console and door panels are covered with a large area of soft plastic and suede materials, matched with exquisite decorative strips, greatly enhancing the sense of grade and texture. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen, paired with a two-spoke flat-bottomed multifunctional steering wheel and electronic shift lever, with a smooth operation experience. The in-vehicle system is equipped with the new eπ OS 2.0, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, integrated with Doubao and DeepSeek dual-language AI large models, supporting dual-zone voice recognition, face recognition and multi-platform mobile phone connection, realizing “responsive to every voice and understanding every sentence”. The interior color schemes include the exclusive “Star Ring Mist Blue” limited color matching and other dual-color options, creating a comfortable and high-grade cockpit atmosphere. The seats are equipped with perforated NAPPA leather or cloud-like skin-friendly leather, with high-elastic sponge inside, providing excellent wrapping and comfort. Some models are equipped with seat ventilation, heating and massage functions, and the leather steering wheel with heating function further enhances the comfort of use.
In terms of features, the whole series of Dongfeng eπ 007 is standard with practical configurations such as tire pressure monitoring, child seat interface, 360° panoramic image (transparent chassis), cruise control, hill-start assist, keyless entry, one-button start, and one-touch window lifting with anti-pinch function. The high-spec version is equipped with more intelligent and comfortable configurations, including high-speed NOA navigation-assisted driving, memory parking assist (LAPA), 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, 64-color ambient light, PM2.5 filtration and air purification system, and 50W wireless phone charging. It is also equipped with more than 20 driving assistance functions, built with 25 intelligent sensors including 1 laser radar, 12 ultrasonic radars and 12 high-definition cameras, forming a 360° all-round perception network to comprehensively improve driving safety and convenience.
Powertrain
The Dongfeng eπ 007 offers two powertrain combinations to meet different consumer needs. One is a rear-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, with a maximum power output of 200 kW and a peak torque of 310 Nm, paired with a single-speed electric transmission, and the 0-100 km/h acceleration time is only 5.7 seconds, with smooth and linear power output, suitable for daily commuting and pursuit of driving fun. The other is a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, with 200 kW power for both front and rear motors, a comprehensive maximum power of 400 kW, a peak torque of 620 Nm, and an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.7 seconds, delivering strong performance. The vehicle is equipped with a 73.5 kWh or 73.48 kWh battery pack (depending on the version), adopting Mach technology lithium iron phosphate battery or ternary lithium battery, with a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 565 km to 610 km, which can easily cope with long-distance travel.
In terms of charging, the Dongfeng eπ 007 supports both fast charging and slow charging. The battery is equipped with a low-temperature heating and liquid cooling temperature control system, ensuring stable performance in different climate environments. In fast charging mode, it only takes about 16 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, and the slow charging time is about 8-10 hours. The first owner can enjoy a lifetime warranty for the battery, reducing the worry of subsequent use. The chassis is tuned by a professional team with CTCC/ETCR racing technology, adopting a front MacPherson + rear multi-link independent suspension structure, matched with FSD variable damping shock absorbers and 50:50 golden axle load ratio, balancing driving comfort and handling stability. It is also equipped with VDC PLUS vehicle dynamic control system, which can effectively stabilize the vehicle posture in emergency situations and improve driving safety.
