The Qin L DM-i is a mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan manufactured by BYD, with dimensions of 4,830 × 1,900 × 1,495 mm and a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. It is equipped with the fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system (1.5L 1,498cc engine + lithium iron phosphate blade battery), delivering a combined fuel consumption of 2.9 L/100 km, a maximum engine thermal efficiency of 46.06%, and a combined NEDC range of 2,100 km.

Exterior Design

The BYD Qin L DM-i adopts the “New Guochao Loong Face” design language of BYD’s Dynasty Series, integrating traditional Chinese cultural elements with modern aesthetics. It features a majestic “Long Yin” front face with a large air intake grille, matched with C-shaped air guide slots on both sides and sharp LED headlights. The body has a sleek and slender contour, with a wide rear shoulder design and a through-type taillight, enhancing both sportiness and recognition. Its dimensions are 4830×1900×1495mm with a 2790mm wheelbase. It offers five fashionable body colors, including Bingpo Green, Jian Kiln Purple and the newly added Weiyang Gray, inspired by famous Chinese porcelains.

Interior Design

The interior creates an elegant “Landscape Painting Cockpit” inspired by Chinese landscape paintings, with a wrap-around design and high-quality materials. It is equipped with an 8.8-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8/15.6-inch adaptive rotating floating central touchscreen, paired with the DiLink 100 intelligent cockpit. The 2026 model is upgraded with an electronic column shifter, freeing up storage space with a built-in 50W wireless charging slot. Standard configurations include dual-zone air conditioning and mobile phone NFC car key, while high-spec models add DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system and front seat ventilation.

Powertrain

As the first model equipped with BYD’s 5th-generation DM-i hybrid technology, it consists of a 1.5L efficient engine (maximum thermal efficiency 46.06%) and an electric motor. The motor has two power options: 120kW and 160kW. Equipped with blade battery packs, it provides CLTC pure electric ranges of 80km, 120km and 128km (2026 model). Its combined range reaches up to 2148km, with a minimum NEDC fuel consumption of 2.6L/100km under feed-in power condition, supporting daily pure electric commuting and long-distance travel without range anxiety.
