The Polestar 3 adopts a sleek and minimalist design language that inherits the brand’s family-style aesthetics, integrating the design elements of the Precept concept car and combining mid-size pure electric SUV practicality with Nordic luxury and sporty temperament, featuring a fully closed front fascia that highlights its pure electric identity and creates a more integrated and futuristic visual effect. It is equipped with sharp updated “Thor’s Hammer” LED daytime running lights paired with standard LED headlights (pixelated headlights available as an option), which enhance night driving safety and have high recognition, and stylish downward-opening through-type LED taillights that echo the front lights, forming a coherent and unified design language. The rear is equipped with a sporty roof spoiler and a large-size silver rear bumper guard, which not only enhances the overall sporty appeal but also optimizes aerodynamic performance, paired with hidden door handles, flush side windows and a streamlined溜背 silhouette to further reduce wind resistance, achieving a low drag coefficient of 0.29Cd. The vehicle comes standard with 21-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels for the long-range version, while the high-performance version is equipped with 22-inch alloy wheels, and the body is available in multiple color options to meet diverse user preferences, with smooth and muscular body lines that present a dynamic and sophisticated visual effect, perfectly catering to the needs of high-end users pursuing personality and performance.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,968 mm in width, and 1,627 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,985 mm. Its well-proportioned mid-size pure electric SUV posture and sleek roof lines create an elegant and sporty appearance, perfectly balancing daily usability and visual appeal. It adopts a 5-door 5-seat layout, with a spacious and flat interior floor that maximizes the use of space. The vehicle is equipped with a practical trunk with sufficient volume, featuring a large opening and a low floor for easy loading of luggage and daily items. The reasonable storage space design throughout the vehicle includes multiple humanized storage areas, easily accommodating daily necessities, family luggage and travel items, meeting the diverse needs of daily commuting, weekend trips and long-distance family travels. The long wheelbase also ensures ample legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers, enhancing riding comfort to a great extent.
Interior Design
The Polestar 3 features a comfortable and intelligent wrap-around cockpit design, adhering to the Nordic concept of safety, health and environmental protection, with a minimalist yet elegant style that avoids redundancy. It is equipped with a 9-inch full LCD digital instrument cluster, an 18.8-inch W-HUD head-up display and a 14.5-inch vertical central touchscreen, forming an intelligent interactive design that delivers a concise and user-friendly visual experience. It operates smoothly supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and the native Android Automotive OS intelligent system, compatible with Apple CarPlay, with an AI voice assistant that supports voice control of air conditioning, navigation and multimedia functions, providing convenient intelligent interaction experience. Interior color schemes include multiple themes, paired with high-quality environmental protection materials, with standard Nappa leather seats (wool woven and Micro Tech bio-environmental materials available as options), soft wrapping materials on the center console and door panels to enhance comfort, creating a quiet, healthy and luxurious cockpit atmosphere that caters to high-end users’ preferences. It also has a reasonable interior layout, abundant storage space, and multiple Type-C interfaces and a wireless charging panel, bringing a more convenient and comfortable riding experience.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with heating function, comfortable seats, automatic constant temperature air conditioning, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera, as well as standard 25-speaker 1610W Bowers&Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos. The higher-spec version adds a high-definition panoramic camera with transparent chassis, ambient light, as well as Pilot Assist driving assistance functions, and the Pilot Pack with Luminar LiDAR is available as an option, supporting multiple complex driving scenarios and enhancing convenience and safety. It also has front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions (available as options), and the rear seats are equipped with heating function, ensuring a comfortable riding experience for all passengers even during long-distance travels. The whole series is equipped with electric suction doors and full-car keyless entry as standard, further enhancing the sense of luxury.
Powertrain
The Polestar 3 is a pure electric mid-size luxury SUV based on the upgraded SPA2 platform, offering three power combinations: single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive (long-range and high-performance versions). The single-motor rear-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 220kW and a peak torque of 490N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.8 seconds. The dual-motor long-range version has a maximum comprehensive power of 360kW and a peak comprehensive torque of 840N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.0 seconds. The dual-motor high-performance version has a maximum comprehensive power of 380kW and a peak comprehensive torque of 910N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds. All versions are paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with smooth and responsive power output, and the maximum top speed is limited to 209km/h. It is equipped with reliable Brembo brake calipers, ensuring linear braking feel and excellent braking performance, and is also equipped with multiple safety assistance technologies to enhance driving safety.
The vehicle is standardly equipped with a 111kWh ternary lithium battery pack with an available capacity of 107kWh, corresponding to CLTC pure electric ranges of 620km to 670km depending on the configuration, which can fully meet daily commuting and medium-distance travel needs. It supports efficient fast charging, with a peak charging power of up to 350kW for the 2026 model (310kW for the rear-wheel drive entry version), which can charge from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes. It is equipped with standard dual-chamber air suspension, front double-wishbone independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, with reinforced anti-roll bars and optimized steering tuning, achieving excellent driving stability and comfort. The rear motor of the dual-motor version has a decoupling function, which can disconnect the front motor when not needed to improve energy efficiency, perfectly balancing power performance, energy efficiency and practicality, suitable for daily urban commuting and high-performance driving scenarios.
