Exterior Design
The Radar RD5 adopts the consistent design language of Radar’s pickup models, featuring a closed front fascia with black details and a central mesh that creates an elegant yet robust visual effect. The decorative elements inside the central grille are wave-shaped, endowing the front face with a more modern look. It is equipped with integrated headlights, and the side profile boasts a complete shape with a wavy waistline, matched with smoked black wheel arches and large five-spoke wheels. The rear is designed with simple and tough taillights, and the vehicle is available in two classic color options: Black and White. It also offers two versions of standard and long cargo compartments, with the size difference mainly reflected in the cargo area.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5,500 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with two wheelbase options: 3,120 mm (standard wheelbase) and 3,310 mm (long wheelbase). The cargo compartment has a load capacity of up to 1,000 kg and a towing capacity of 1,500 kg, combining practicality and versatility. The minimum turning radius is only 6.1 meters, making it more flexible in daily driving and complex road conditions.
Interior Design
The Radar RD5 is equipped with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating central touchscreen, which together deliver a concise and advanced visual experience and convenient interactive operation. The interior is wrapped in a large number of soft materials, creating a high-end and refined atmosphere, and the new-style electronic shift lever not only has a novel shape but also is equipped with a wireless charging function for added convenience. Interior color schemes are designed to cater to practical and comfortable needs, providing a warm and comfortable riding environment.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, and a 5-star battery protection system, including a 10mm high-strength metal protective plate and six battery safety technologies. The higher-spec 4WD version adds advanced driver-assistance systems, active braking, and a 360-degree camera system, as well as practical features such as an 11 kW on-board charger.
Powertrain
The Radar RD5 offers two drive modes: rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a single motor and four-wheel drive (4WD) with dual motors. The single-motor RWD version is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power output of 180 kW and peak torque of 309 Nm. The dual-motor 4WD version has a combined maximum power of 280 kW and peak torque of 485 Nm. Both versions are paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 160 km/h.
The vehicle is available with lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium battery packs, with a capacity ranging from 42 kWh to 86 kWh, offering a CLTC-rated range of 310 km to 605 km. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%, effectively alleviating range anxiety and meeting the needs of daily commuting and outdoor adventures.
