The Dongfeng Forthing T5 EVO is the first strategic model launched by the Dongfeng Forthing brand following its rebranding. Positioned as a compact SUV, the vehicle officially debuted in March 2021. It adopts the “Sharp Dynamics” design language and features split headlights, full-width taillights, and a dual-exhaust system with four outlets. With a wheelbase of 2,715 mm, the vehicle is powered by a 1.5T turbocharged engine delivering a maximum output of 197 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission.

Exterior Design

The Dongfeng Forthing T5 EVO adopts a dynamic “Edge Dynamics” design concept, featuring a lion-bionic front fascia with a bold roars-like grille and sharp split LED headlights, complemented by distinctive slender daytime running lights that enhance its aggressive and stylish appearance. The rear is equipped with a sleek through-type LED taillight and a sporty rear spoiler, paired with a bilateral four-exhaust layout that further amplifies its sporty charm. The body is available in multiple color options, including classic solid colors and two-tone combinations such as Pearl White, Jet Black, and Red with a black roof, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,565 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,690 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. The interior offers ample headroom and legroom for both front and rear passengers, ensuring a comfortable riding experience even on long journeys. The rear seats feature a flexible split-folding design, which greatly improves storage and seating flexibility, easily accommodating large items or creating additional cargo space when needed.

Interior Design

The Dongfeng Forthing T5 EVO is equipped with a 10.25-inch dual-link screen consisting of a digital instrument cluster and a central touchscreen, delivering a sleek and advanced visual experience. The interior adopts a wrap-around design with high-quality materials, including simulated carbon fiber trim and soft-touch panels, paired with round air vents styled like aircraft nozzles that add a strong sporty atmosphere. Interior color schemes include classic Black, dynamic Black and Red, and elegant Beige, meeting different personalized needs.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and cruise control, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds Level 2 driver-assistance systems, active braking, a 360-degree camera system, as well as comfort features such as heated and ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, and a 220V power supply, enhancing both safety and convenience.

Powertrain

The Dongfeng Forthing T5 EVO is equipped with a front-mounted 1.5T turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power output of 145 kW (197 hp) and peak torque of 285 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) from Magna, ensuring smooth shifting and responsive performance, with an official top speed of no less than 180 km/h. The vehicle has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.6 L per 100 km, achieving an excellent balance between power and fuel efficiency. Additionally, it is equipped with an electronic power steering system and a multi-link rear suspension, providing stable and comfortable driving performance in various road conditions.
