Exterior Design
The BYD e7 adopts BYD’s latest family design language, featuring a closed grille paired with a through-type LED light strip and built-in matrix light sources, creating a sleek and tech-savvy look. The front bumper is equipped with aerodynamic air guide grooves on both sides and a trapezoidal air intake at the bottom, connected with blackened decorative strips to form a “smiling front face” that is both approachable and fashionable. The rear is fitted with a through-type LED taillight group with three-dimensional geometric textures inside the lamp cavity, and a hidden liftable rear spoiler that automatically rises when the speed exceeds 80km/h to provide downforce, enhancing its sporty demeanor. The body is available in multiple color options, including Time Gray, Crystal White, Aurora Blue, Obsidian Black, and Chidi Red, catering to diverse aesthetic needs.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, presenting a coordinated and stable overall proportion with a drag coefficient of 0.23Cd, which helps reduce energy consumption and improve cruising range. The smooth sloping roof line and hidden door handles not only enhance the visual sense of sportiness but also optimize aerodynamic performance. The charging port is located on the right rear fender, with a magnetic electric opening cover and a built-in annular LED light with customizable RGB colors, adding a touch of sophistication.
Interior Design
The BYD e7 features a minimalist interior design with horizontal lines dominating the center console, creating a clean and elegant atmosphere. It is equipped with a 5-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a floating central touchscreen (10.1-inch for the low-end version and 15.6-inch for the high-end version), which integrates the DiLink infotainment system, supporting OTA upgrades, voice wake-up (“Hello, Xiaodi”) and Wi-Fi hotspots, delivering a convenient and intuitive operating experience. Interior color schemes include Xuankong Black as standard, with optional Ri’er Brown and Bingpo Blue, meeting personalized preferences for different users.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with simulated leather seats, automatic air conditioning, heat pump air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and front and rear USB/Type-C interfaces, covering daily practical needs. The higher-spec version adds 360-degree panoramic camera, driver’s seat heating/ventilation, and power-adjustable driver’s seat, further enhancing comfort and convenience. The interior is also equipped with a 256-color ambient light supporting music rhythm mode, and a 20mm wide light guide strip in the door handle area, improving nighttime recognition and driving comfort.
Powertrain
The BYD e7 is equipped with a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor (model: TZ180XSJ), delivering a maximum power output of 100 kW (136 horsepower) and peak torque of 180 Nm. It is paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 150 km/h, which can fully meet the needs of urban commuting and urban expressway driving. The power output is biased towards economy, with quick low-speed response, making it suitable for urban congested road conditions.
The BYD e7 offers two battery options: a 48 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack and a 57.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, providing CLTC-rated ranges of 450 km and 520 km respectively. Both versions are equipped with a heat pump air conditioning and battery preheating function, optimizing charging stability in low-temperature environments. In fast-charging mode, the 48 kWh version takes approximately 28 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% with a fast-charging power of 70 kW, while the 57.6 kWh version takes about 26 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% with a fast-charging power of 84 kW, effectively alleviating range anxiety.
