The Sealion 06 is a midsize SUV launched by BYD’s Ocean Network on July 24, 2025. As the successor to the Song PLUS, it is available in two powertrain options: the DM-i plug-in hybrid and the EV all-electric version. The vehicle features Ocean Aesthetics design language and is available in five exterior color schemes and two interior color schemes. It measures 4,810 × 1,920 × 1,675 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm and a trunk capacity of 757 liters.

Exterior Design

The BYD Sealion 06 DM adopts the brand’s latest “Marine Aesthetics 3.0” design language, tailored for the compact SUV market, featuring a sleek and dynamic overall posture that perfectly combines fashion sense and practicality. The front fascia is equipped with a narrow and sharp closed grille and split-type LED headlights, with the brand’s signature “Dot Matrix” daytime running lights that present a delicate and technological sense when lit. The rear is fitted with a full-width through-type LED taillight group and a small-sized roof spoiler, complemented by a sporty rear bumper with a hidden exhaust design, highlighting its youthful and dynamic attributes. The body is available in five color options: Crystal White, Ocean Blue, Sky Gray, Cherry Red, and Mint Green, catering to the aesthetic needs of young users.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,400 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The body adopts a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid structure, with a maximum torsional stiffness of 28,000 N·m/deg, ensuring excellent driving stability and passive safety. The vehicle is also equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, a ground clearance of 170 mm, and approach/departure angles of 19° and 24° respectively, along with a breakover angle of 16°, allowing it to easily adapt to urban roads and light off-road scenarios. Additionally, the electric folding rearview mirrors with heating function and panoramic sunroof add practicality and comfort to the vehicle.

Interior Design

The BYD Sealion 06 DM is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch floating rotatable central touchscreen, and a multi-function steering wheel with physical buttons, forming an intelligent interactive layout that delivers a convenient visual and operational experience. The interior integrates marine-inspired aesthetics with modern simplicity, featuring a soft-wrapped dashboard and door panels, with a layered center console and ambient lighting, creating a warm and comfortable driving atmosphere. Interior color schemes include Black & Beige, Black & Blue, and All Black, meeting the personalized needs of different users for interior style.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, electronic parking brake, automatic parking, reverse radar, rearview camera, and a 6-speaker audio system, among other practical functions. The interior is wrapped in high-quality PVC leather and fabric materials, with exquisite stitching craftsmanship, balancing comfort and cost-effectiveness. The higher-spec Champion Edition adds a 360° panoramic image, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and a 10-speaker DiPilot audio system, while both versions are equipped with the BYD DiLink 5.0 intelligent network connection system, supporting voice control, CarPlay/CarLife connection, and over-the-air (OTA) upgrades. Other practical configurations include 15W wireless phone charging, 64-color ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning with PM2.5 filtration.

Powertrain

The BYD Sealion 06 DM is built on the brand’s DM-i super hybrid platform, equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum combined power output of 145 kW and a peak torque of 325 N·m, with a maximum horsepower of 197 Ps. It is paired with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission, with an official top speed of 170 km/h and an acceleration time of 7.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, achieving a perfect balance between power performance and fuel economy. The vehicle is also equipped with an intelligent hybrid control system, which can automatically switch between pure electric, hybrid, and energy recovery modes according to driving conditions.
The BYD Sealion 06 DM comes standard with a 18.3 kWh BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 110 km and a comprehensive range of over 1,200 km when combined with the fuel engine. It supports 11 kW AC slow charging and 30 kW DC fast charging, and it takes only about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% in fast-charging mode, effectively solving the range anxiety of hybrid vehicles. It also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) function with a maximum output power of 3.3 kW, meeting the power needs of outdoor camping, mobile office, and other scenarios, and is equipped with an intelligent thermal management system to ensure stable performance in various temperature environments.
