As a compact light off-road SUV of BAIC Off-road, the Beijing BJ30 inherits the brand’s profound off-road heritage and adopts the iconic “Emotional Hardcore” design language, perfectly integrating rugged off-road genes with urban fashion elements. Different from the large-size tough posture of the Beijing BJ60, the BJ30 presents a compact and dynamic look, focusing on daily practicality while retaining the brand’s unique off-road temperament, making it suitable for both urban commuting and light off-road adventures.
The front fascia features a prominent five-hole grille, a classic family design element, paired with sharp integrated LED headlights and stylish daytime running lights. The headlight interior is decorated with chrome trim, which echoes the three-circle chrome trim below the front bumper, highlighting a rugged and refined look. The squared-off body lines, moderately flared wheel arches, and upright windshield inherit the brand’s off-road DNA, while the front and rear bumpers with anti-collision bars enhance both protection and off-road charm. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle has a length of 4,730 mm, a width of 1,855 mm, and a height of 1,710 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, presenting a compact yet spacious SUV proportion. The short front and rear overhangs optimize off-road passing performance, while the side is equipped with stylish alloy wheels matched with all-terrain tires and optional side steps, balancing practicality and fashion.
The rear is equipped with sharp LED taillights that echo the front headlights, a rugged rear bumper, and a compact external spare tire, further enhancing its off-road identity. The body is available in a variety of dynamic color options, including Glacier White, Starry Black, Desert Yellow, and Sky Blue, catering to the aesthetic needs of young users and off-road enthusiasts. Core off-road parameters include an excellent approach angle and departure angle, a minimum ground clearance of 210 mm, and a maximum wading depth of 500 mm, easily handling light off-road road conditions such as gravel roads, shallow slopes, and muddy roads.
Interior Design
The interior of the Beijing BJ30 blends hard-core off-road texture with daily comfort and intelligent experience, focusing on practicality and space utilization, which is suitable for family travel and daily commuting. It offers 5-seat and 7-seat layout options to meet the travel needs of different family groups, with the 2,820 mm wheelbase providing ample headroom and legroom for all occupants—180 cm passengers can enjoy comfortable seating in both the front and rear rows, and the flat rear floor ensures convenience for the middle passenger.
The cockpit is equipped with a practical intelligent system, including a 10.25-inch full-LCD instrument panel and a 12.3-inch floating central touchscreen, supporting smartphone connectivity, voice control, and basic intelligent interaction functions, bringing a convenient operating experience. The interior is wrapped with high-quality leather and soft materials, with exquisite stitching craftsmanship, and is equipped with ambient lights and a high-fidelity audio system, creating a comfortable and warm cabin atmosphere. Interior color schemes include black and beige two-tone and all-black, catering to different personalized preferences.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, single-zone automatic air conditioning, and a PM2.5 air purification system. The higher-spec models add a 360-degree panoramic camera system, a 1.05㎡ panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, and intelligent driving assistance functions, further enhancing comfort and safety. The 4/6 split-folding rear seats can expand the trunk volume from 480L to 1,496L, and the second row seats can be folded flat to form a 1.92-meter-long pure flat space, easily accommodating camping gear, large luggage, and outdoor equipment, making it ideal for family trips and light off-road adventures.
Powertrain
The Beijing BJ30 offers two powertrain options to suit diverse travel needs, focusing on energy efficiency, reliability, and practical performance. The first option is a 1.5T turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine has a maximum power of 115 kW and a peak torque of 230 Nm, ensuring smooth power output for daily commuting and light off-road scenarios, with a comprehensive fuel consumption of approximately 7.6 L/100 km, which is economical and practical.
The second option is the “three-engine four-wheel drive six-mode HEV hybrid architecture” independently developed by BAIC Off-road, consisting of a 1.5T hybrid-specific engine and electric motors. The hybrid system has a combined maximum power of 301 kW and a peak torque of 685 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in only 6.59 seconds, with a comprehensive fuel consumption as low as 5.85 L/100 km. The hybrid engine adopts advanced technology with a thermal efficiency of up to 41%, and the system can intelligently switch between six modes: pure electric, series, parallel, direct drive, energy recovery, and parking charging, balancing performance and energy efficiency.
The hybrid version supports convenient charging and power supply functions, which can meet the power needs of daily use and outdoor camping. Both powertrain versions use 92# gasoline, reducing the cost of use, and the transmission undergoes strict durability testing, ensuring reliable performance in various road conditions.
