Exterior Design
The BYD Sea Lion 06 EV inherits the brand’s iconic “Marine Aesthetics 3.0” design language, consistent with its DM counterpart but with exclusive details highlighting its pure electric identity, tailored for the compact pure electric SUV market. It features a sleek and dynamic溜背 posture that perfectly combines fashion sense, aerodynamics and practicality. The front fascia is equipped with a narrow and sharp fully closed grille (exclusive to pure electric models) and split-type LED headlights, with the brand’s signature “Dot Matrix” daytime running lights that present a delicate and technological sense when lit, while the front bumper is designed with a low wind resistance air intake, further optimizing energy efficiency. The rear is fitted with a full-width through-type LED taillight group and a small-sized roof spoiler, complemented by a sporty rear bumper with a pure electric exclusive hidden exhaust-free design, highlighting its youthful, dynamic and environmentally friendly attributes. The body is available in six color options: Crystal White, Ocean Blue, Sky Gray, Cherry Red, Mint Green, and exclusive Aurora Green, catering to the aesthetic needs of young users pursuing green travel.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle maintains the same excellent space performance as the DM version, measuring 4,400 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The body adopts a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid structure, with a maximum torsional stiffness of 28,000 N·m/deg, ensuring excellent driving stability and passive safety. The vehicle is also equipped with 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels (exclusive to EV models), a ground clearance of 170 mm, and approach/departure angles of 19° and 24° respectively, along with a breakover angle of 16°, allowing it to easily adapt to urban roads and light off-road scenarios. Additionally, the electric folding rearview mirrors with heating function, panoramic sunroof, and EV exclusive blue decorative strips on the front and rear logos add practicality, comfort and pure electric recognition to the vehicle.
Interior Design
The BYD Sea Lion 06 EV is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch floating rotatable central touchscreen, and a multi-function steering wheel with physical buttons, forming an intelligent interactive layout that delivers a convenient visual and operational experience. The interior integrates marine-inspired aesthetics with modern simplicity and pure electric technological sense, featuring a soft-wrapped dashboard and door panels, with a layered center console, ambient lighting and EV exclusive blue decorative elements, creating a warm, comfortable and futuristic driving atmosphere. Interior color schemes include Black & Beige, Black & Blue, All Black, and exclusive Marine Blue (exclusive to EV models), meeting the personalized needs of different users for interior style.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels, electronic parking brake, automatic parking, reverse radar, rearview camera, and a 6-speaker audio system, among other practical functions. The interior is wrapped in high-quality PVC leather and fabric materials, with exquisite stitching craftsmanship, balancing comfort and cost-effectiveness. The higher-spec Champion Edition adds a 360° panoramic image, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and a 10-speaker DiPilot audio system, while both versions are equipped with the BYD DiLink 5.0 intelligent network connection system, supporting voice control, CarPlay/CarLife connection, and over-the-air (OTA) upgrades. Other practical configurations include 15W wireless phone charging, 64-color ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic air conditioning with PM2.5 filtration, and EV exclusive functions such as one-key start with electric vehicle identity display and energy consumption monitoring.
Powertrain
The BYD Sea Lion 06 EV is built on the brand’s e-Platform 3.0, equipped with a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, available in two power versions: the standard version delivers a maximum power output of 150 kW and a peak torque of 310 N·m, with a maximum horsepower of 204 Ps; the high-performance version delivers a maximum power output of 160 kW and a peak torque of 330 N·m, with a maximum horsepower of 217 Ps. It is paired with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission, with an official top speed of 175 km/h, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.6 seconds (standard version) and 7.3 seconds (high-performance version) respectively, achieving excellent power performance while maintaining high energy efficiency. The vehicle is also equipped with an intelligent pure electric control system, which can automatically switch between normal, eco and sport modes, as well as an intelligent energy recovery system, further improving cruising range.
The BYD Sea Lion 06 EV comes standard with a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 405 km (standard version); the high-performance version is equipped with a 71.8 kWh Blade battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 510 km, effectively solving the range anxiety of pure electric vehicles. It supports 11 kW AC slow charging and 80 kW DC fast charging, and it takes only about 26 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% in fast-charging mode. It also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) function with a maximum output power of 3.3 kW, meeting the power needs of outdoor camping, mobile office, and other scenarios, and is equipped with an intelligent thermal management system to ensure stable performance in various temperature environments, especially optimizing low-temperature charging and driving performance.
