The Song L DM is a midsize SUV from BYD’s Song series, manufactured at the company’s Zhengzhou plant. It measures 4,780 × 1,898 × 1,670 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,782 mm, and features a five-seat configuration. The vehicle is equipped with the fifth-generation DM hybrid system, featuring a 1.5-liter engine (maximum power: 74 kW) and a drive motor (maximum power: 160 kW). It offers battery packs with capacities of 18.3 kWh and 26.593 kWh, delivering pure electric ranges of 112 km and 160 km under WLTC conditions, respectively. Fuel consumption when the battery is depleted is 4.95–4.98 liters per 100 km.

Exterior Design

The BYD Song L DM is a mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV, equipped with a polygonal front grille and full LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with through-type LED taillight groups and aerodynamic rear bumper trim. Multiple body color options are available. The vehicle adopts 19-inch wheel configurations. Partial versions are fitted with roof-mounted lidar sensors and semi-hidden door handles. A panoramic sunroof is equipped as standard.
The vehicle adopts a 5-door 5-seater layout. The body dimensions are 4780 mm in length, 1890 mm in width and 1670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. Electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and electric tailgate are standard configurations.

Interior Design

The vehicle is equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster and a rotatable central touchscreen. Multiple interior color schemes are available, matched with leather upholstery and metallic decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning. An electronic gear shift lever is equipped as standard.
Standard configurations include front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera and constant-speed cruise control. Keyless entry and one-key start functions are standard. High-spec versions are equipped with 360-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system. The vehicle supports wireless phone charging and OTA upgrade functions.

Powertrain

The BYD Song L DM adopts front-wheel drive layout, equipped with a 1.5L inline four-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine and single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, matched with E-CVT transmission. The engine delivers a maximum power of 74 kW and a peak torque of 126 Nm. The electric motor outputs a maximum power of 160 kW and a peak torque of 260 Nm. The electronically limited top speed is 180 km/h.
The vehicle is equipped with plug-in hybrid dedicated blade lithium iron phosphate battery packs with capacities of 18.3 kWh and 26.6 kWh. The CLTC pure electric cruising range covers 130 km and 200 km for different versions, with a CLTC comprehensive cruising range up to 1200 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging and AC slow charging functions. The vehicle is equipped with energy recovery system and Yunniang-C intelligent damping body control system.
