The Hongqi E-HS9 adopts a design concept that integrates grandeur and modern new energy technology, featuring a closed vertical waterfall front fascia that inherits the brand’s iconic design language, embedded with a luminous vertical Hongqi emblem and integrated LED matrix headlights, paired with a贯穿式 LED light strip that connects the two headlights, creating a strong visual impact and a sense of futurism. The side waistline is straight and powerful, extending from the front fender to the rear taillight, combined with a sleek fastback roofline, hidden electric door handles and a panoramic sunroof, which not only reduces wind resistance but also enhances the sense of luxury and technology. The rear is equipped with a through-type LED taillight that echoes the front light strip, matched with a sporty rear bumper and a small rear spoiler, balancing aesthetic appeal and aerodynamic performance. The body has a low drag coefficient for better driving efficiency and is available in multiple color options to cater to diverse aesthetic needs of different users.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5,209 mm in length, 2,010 mm in width, and 1,731 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm, positioning as a full-size luxury pure electric SUV with optional 6-seat and 7-seat layouts. The interior space is extremely spacious and comfortable, with a flat rear floor design that ensures ample legroom for rear passengers, effectively improving riding comfort. The rear seats feature a flexible split-folding design, which increases flexibility for storage and seating, expanding the trunk volume to meet daily loading and long-distance travel needs, and some models are equipped with an electric tailgate with memory function for added convenience.
Interior Design
The Hongqi E-HS9 features a luxurious and tech-savvy interior with a wrap-around cockpit design concept, creating a comfortable and high-end driving atmosphere. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.5-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, forming a multi-screen interaction system with clear display and smooth operation, supporting voice control, vehicle networking, 5G network and OTA upgrades to enhance the intelligent experience. The optional AR-HUD head-up display projects key information such as navigation and vehicle speed directly in front of the driver’s field of vision, ensuring driving safety and convenience.
The interior is wrapped in high-quality materials, with options of Alcantara and PVC synthetic leather or Nappa leather seats (top-spec models adopt high-grade mixed materials), soft-touch surfaces in high-frequency contact areas, and delicate trim panels, highlighting a strong sense of luxury. Multiple interior color schemes are available to meet personalized preferences. The seats are designed based on ergonomics, with the driver’s seat supporting 8-way electric adjustment and 4-way lumbar support, and the front seats supporting heating, ventilation and massage functions; the second row seats support 4-way electric adjustment (for 6-seat models) and are also equipped with heating and ventilation functions, while the third row seats support electric backrest adjustment, ensuring comfortable riding experience for all passengers. In terms of features, the standard model comes with 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, front and rear airbags, a panoramic camera system, cruise control and a 4-zone automatic air conditioner with air quality sensor and PM2.5 filter, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds advanced driver-assistance systems, active braking, automatic parking, wireless phone charger and a premium sound system, further enhancing convenience and luxury.
Powertrain
The Hongqi E-HS9 is a pure electric vehicle that offers two power configurations: rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version is equipped with a single permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power output of 253 kW and peak torque of 450 Nm, paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.3 seconds and an official top speed of 200 km/h. The all-wheel drive version is equipped with a dual-motor combination, with a combined power of 455 kW and peak torque of 756 Nm, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of only 3.9 seconds and an official top speed of 200 km/h, delivering strong power performance.
In terms of batteries and range, the Hongqi E-HS9 is available with lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium battery packs. The 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack provides a CLTC range of up to 605 km, while the 111 kWh ternary lithium battery pack offers a CLTC range of 730 km for the rear-wheel drive version and 680 km for the all-wheel drive version. The vehicle supports 200-265 kW fast charging, which takes about 20 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and is also equipped with a 3 kW external power output function to meet outdoor power needs. Additionally, it is equipped with a braking energy recovery system and an intelligent damper control system, further optimizing driving efficiency and comfort.
