The Roewe RX5 MAX adopts the brand’s distinctive “Tough Aesthetics” design language, featuring a robust and dynamic overall shape that combines SUV’s ruggedness with modern fashion, making it suitable for both urban commuting and outdoor travel. It is equipped with the iconic “Dragon Scale Texture” suspended whale-wing grille, paired with 442-piece LED matrix headlights as standard across the entire series, which extend to the wheel arches to form a sharp and powerful front face. The front “ROEWE” letter emblem enhances the sense of premium, while the hidden door handles reduce the drag coefficient to 0.32Cd, optimizing aerodynamic performance. The “time-space shuttle” dual waistlines run from the front fender to the rear taillights, highlighting the vehicle’s sense of power and layering. The rear is equipped with starry sky flashing interactive taillights and a hidden exhaust layout, with a simple and generous overall shape that has high recognition at night. The body uses high-quality paint, available in multiple color options including matte “Fifty Shades of Gray” and pearl paint, breaking the traditional urban SUV design framework.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,676 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm. The reasonable wheelbase and body design ensure ample legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, providing a comfortable riding experience for 5 passengers. The rear seats support folding, which can flexibly expand the storage space, and the trunk has a maximum capacity of 1430L, which can easily accommodate camping equipment, luggage and daily necessities, fully meeting the needs of family travel and outdoor activities. All models are equipped with 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with 235/45 R19 tires, which not only enhance the visual sense of sportiness but also improve the stability and passability during driving.
Interior Design
The Roewe RX5 MAX adopts an interior design centered on comfort and technology, with a wrap-around cockpit layout that creates a sense of enclosure and luxury. It is equipped with a large-size integrated screen combination, matching a digital instrument cluster and a central control touch screen, with clear resolution and smooth operation, supporting mobile phone interconnection functions to greatly improve the convenience of use. The center console adopts simple and smooth lines, with a large number of high-quality leather and soft materials wrapped, and the door panels and seat surfaces are made of skin-friendly materials, providing a comfortable touch. The interior is also equipped with multiple practical storage spaces, including a central armrest box, door panel storage compartments and a wireless charging area, which can easily meet the daily storage needs of users.
Interior color schemes are designed to cater to personalized preferences, with simple and elegant tones as the main theme, and some high-end models offer two-tone interior options to enhance the sense of hierarchy. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, electronic parking, and automatic air conditioning, among other practical functions. The mid-to-high configuration models add Level 2 driver-assistance systems, full-speed adaptive cruise, lane keeping assist, 360-degree panoramic image, electric trunk, and position memory functions, while the top-spec models are equipped with reverse side warning, automatic parking, and other advanced configurations, further enhancing driving comfort and safety. High-end models are also equipped with Venus intelligent system or Luoshen intelligent cockpit system, supporting online navigation and vehicle networking functions.
Powertrain
The Roewe RX5 MAX is equipped with SAIC’s Blue Core power system, offering two engine options: 1.5T turbocharged and 2.0T turbocharged, both adopting front-mounted layout and front-wheel drive mode. The 1.5T turbocharged engine (model 15C4E) has a displacement of 1490 mL, a maximum power of 133 kW and a peak torque of 285 N·m, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0T turbocharged engine (model 20L4E) has a displacement of 1995 mL, a maximum power of 170 kW and a peak torque of 370 N·m, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both engines adopt direct injection technology and all-aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, with lightweight design to improve fuel efficiency and power performance.
The vehicle has excellent fuel economy, with a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 7.5 L/100km for the 1.5T model and 8.8 L/100km for the 2.0T model, effectively reducing daily use costs. The official top speed is 190 km/h for the 1.5T model and 210 km/h for the 2.0T model, which can easily meet the needs of daily commuting and long-distance travel. Both engines meet the National VI emission standard, with low later maintenance costs and high reliability. The vehicle is also equipped with ABS, EBD, ESP, brake assist and other safety systems, as well as uphill assist and steep slope descent functions, ensuring driving stability while providing stable power output.
