Exterior Design
The Wuling Starlight PHEV adopts the “Star Wing Aesthetics” design concept, which is consistent with its positioning as a plug-in hybrid mid-size sedan tailored for family travel and daily commuting. It features a sleek front fascia with a wing-shaped grille layout that highlights its new energy identity, paired with star-ring daytime running lights that form a distinctive and highly recognizable outline when lit. It is equipped with split-type LED headlights with delicate details, which are different from the pure electric version in design and enhance the sense of hierarchy. The side of the body adopts a smooth sloping roof design, creating a dynamic and streamlined contour, and is equipped with 18-inch star-spin alloy wheels that further highlight the vehicle’s sporty temperament. The rear is equipped with a through-type star-ring LED taillight with a sense of future, paired with a large-area black surround at the bottom of the rear bumper, creating a sporty and layered appearance. The body is available in multiple color options including Silver Frost White, Misty Cloud Gray, Obsidian Black and Sunset Purple, all adopting high-quality coating process, catering to diverse personalized aesthetic needs, and it adopts a 4-door 5-seat sedan structure to meet the needs of family travel.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,835 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. Its well-proportioned body balances sportiness and space, making it easy to shuttle through urban streets while ensuring ample interior space. The 5-seat layout provides comfortable riding space for the whole family; for a passenger with a height of 180cm, there is sufficient head and leg space in both the front and rear rows, and the nearly flat rear floor improves the comfort of the middle passenger. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which greatly improves the flexibility of storage; the basic trunk volume is ample enough to accommodate daily necessities and travel luggage, and can be further expanded when the rear seats are folded, easily meeting the needs of daily use and family travel.
Interior Design
The Wuling Starlight PHEV adopts a simple and comfortable interior design style, which is consistent with its positioning of a cost-effective and practical plug-in hybrid sedan. It is equipped with a 3.5-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch floating central touchscreen, forming an intelligent human-computer interaction interface. The LCD instrument clearly displays key vehicle information such as vehicle speed, power and cruising range, while the central touchscreen has a clear display and smooth operation, integrating multimedia entertainment, vehicle settings, navigation and other rich functions. It supports mobile phone connection and intelligent voice interaction, which can control air conditioning, navigation and other functions, bringing a convenient operational experience. The interior adopts a wrapped layout with soft materials and piano paint panels, paired with appropriate decorative strips to enhance the overall texture. The seats are made of comfortable fabric or imitation leather materials, with good wrapping and support, ensuring riding comfort for long-distance travel. The interior is designed with multiple storage spaces, including door storage slots, center console storage boxes and armrest storage, which are convenient for placing small items and enhance the practicality of the vehicle.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, ABS anti-lock braking system, EBD electronic brake force distribution system, front dual airbags, manual air conditioning and electric power steering system, among other practical and safe functions. The higher-spec models add 360-degree panoramic image, keyless entry, keyless start, electronic parking brake (EPB), automatic parking (Autohold), front side airbags, electronic vehicle stability system (ESC), 50W wireless charging panel and Level 2 intelligent driving assistance system, further enhancing the convenience and safety of daily use. All models are equipped with battery heating and intelligent heat preservation functions, which are more user-friendly for daily use.
Powertrain
The Wuling Starlight PHEV is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, adopting a front-wheel drive form. The 1.5L engine has a high thermal efficiency, delivering a reliable power output, while the electric motor provides strong instantaneous torque. It is paired with an E-CVT continuously variable transmission, ensuring smooth driving without obvious. The vehicle is available with different capacity lithium iron phosphate battery packs, offering CLTC-rated pure electric ranges of 70 km and 150 km respectively, and a comprehensive range of up to 1,100 km. It supports both AC slow charging and DC fast charging; in fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 60 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, while in slow-charging mode, it takes about 4 hours to fully charge, ensuring convenient daily use and long-distance travel. The WLTC fuel consumption under feed-in power condition is as low as 4.8L per 100km, achieving excellent fuel economy.
