Exterior Design
The BYD e2 adopts the brand’s distinctive “Ocean Aesthetics” design language, consistent with other new energy models of BYD, featuring a sleek and dynamic front fascia with a hexagonal “Roman Star Array” grille that highlights its electric identity. It is equipped with integrated LED headlights with three lenses, paired with distinctive wave-shaped daytime running lights, and a stylish through-type LED taillight with geometric fold lines at the rear, creating a high recognition. The rear is fitted with a subtle rear spoiler and a black diffuser, further enhancing its sporty appeal. The body is available in four color options: Crystal White, Beibei Gray, Warm Sun White, and France Red, catering to diverse aesthetic needs.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,260 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width, and 1,530 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. As a 5-door 5-seat hatchback, it offers a spacious and flexible interior space. The rear seats feature an integral folding design, which not only improves the flexibility of storage and seating but also expands the trunk space to meet daily use and occasional travel needs, fully reflecting its practicality as a compact family car.
Interior Design
The BYD e2 is equipped with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch or 12.8-inch rotatable floating central touchscreen (depending on the trim level), which is equipped with the latest DiLink intelligent network connection system, delivering a convenient and outstanding visual experience. Interior color schemes mainly adopt a simple and elegant deep black tone, and high-end models are equipped with honey brown two-tone interiors, creating a warm and fashionable atmosphere while ensuring a sense of calmness. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 16-inch wheels, front side airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and automatic air conditioning, among other practical functions. The higher-spec Luxury version adds leather steering wheel, imitation leather seats, 3.3 kW external power output, and other convenient configurations, further enhancing the comfort and practicality of the vehicle.
Powertrain
The BYD e2 is equipped with a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 70 kW and peak torque of 180 Nm. It is paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 130 km/h, and the acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h takes only 4.9 seconds, ensuring a brisk and flexible driving experience for urban commuting. The BYD e2 comes standard with a 43.2 kWh BYD blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of 405 km. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, and AC normal charging takes about 9 hours, effectively solving the anxiety of daily travel and long-distance trips.
