The Song L EV is a midsize all-electric SUV (station wagon-style) under BYD’s Dynasty series. Built on the e-platform 3.0, it features CTB (Cell-to-Body) integrated battery technology, the YunNian-C intelligent damping body control system, and the DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system. The vehicle is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, with CLTC ranges of 550 km, 602 km, and 662 km. Exterior Design

The BYD Song L EV adopts the brand’s new-generation “Pioneer Dragon Face Aesthetics” design language, consistent with other models in BYD’s Dynasty series, and takes light as the source of inspiration to integrate pioneering design with Oriental elegance. It features a closed grille connected with 3D three-dimensional dragon whiskers, highlighting a strong sense of power, and is equipped with sharp integrated headlights and distinctive LED daytime running lights, which not only improve driving safety but also enhance the vehicle’s dynamic and technological sense. The rear is designed with unique Chinese-style taillights with flowing light effects, and the electric rear spoiler and frameless doors (a first for BYD models) further strengthen its sporty temperament, achieving a perfect combination of wind resistance reduction and performance aesthetics. The body is available in five stylish color options: Bright Moon White, Star Twilight Gray, Universe Black, Mars Orange, and Ji Yun Qing, as well as the newly added Aurora Blue, catering to the personalized needs of different consumers.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,840 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm, positioning it as a mid-size pioneer hunting SUV. The interior space is spacious and comfortable; the rear legroom and headroom are ample, providing a comfortable seating experience for both front and rear passengers. The rear seats feature a split-folding design, which not only increases flexibility for storage and seating but also expands the trunk space to meet the needs of daily use and outdoor travel. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with integrated roof rails and front-narrow-rear-wide tires, which not only enhance practicality but also highlight its sporty characteristics.

Interior Design

The BYD Song L EV is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch floating rotating central touchscreen, which is equipped with the high-end version of the intelligent cockpit – DiLink 100, built with a powerful 6nm process chip and integrated 5G baseband technology. It supports dual-screen same-display and different-screen different-display, and is matched with a 50-inch AR HUD head-up display, allowing navigation, vehicle speed and other information to be seen at a glance, bringing an excellent visual experience and convenient operation. Interior color schemes include the newly added Xuankong Gray, as well as Danxia Red, Beach White and Wilderness Gray (exclusive to four-wheel drive models), which are luxurious and elegant, catering to the aesthetic needs of high-end consumers. The center console and door panels are wrapped with a large area of soft NAPPA leather and high-end suede (the four-wheel drive version is exclusive), and the leather multifunctional steering wheel and ergonomic sports seats enhance the overall comfort and texture of the interior.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 11 airbags, full-speed adaptive cruise, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and EC intelligent light-sensing sunroof, among other practical functions, ensuring basic driving safety and convenience. The higher-spec premium version adds the “Tian Shen Zhi Yan” high-end intelligent driving assistance system DiPilot 100, 360-degree camera system, VTOL mobile power station function with 6 kW external power output, as well as automatic parking, automatic lane change assistance, 50W wireless phone charging and 12-speaker HiFi-level customized Dynaudio sound system, further enhancing the vehicle’s intelligence, safety and practicality.

Powertrain

The BYD Song L EV is built on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 and is equipped with CTB battery-body integration technology and Yun Nian-C system. It offers two drive versions: single-motor rear drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive. The rear-drive version has two power adjustments, with a maximum power of 150 kW and 230 kW respectively, and peak torque of 310 Nm and 360 Nm respectively, with official 0-100 km/h acceleration times of 8.6 seconds and 6.9 seconds. The four-wheel drive version adopts a combination of front AC asynchronous motor and rear permanent magnet synchronous motor (with SiC silicon carbide technology), with a comprehensive system power of 380 kW and a peak torque of 670 Nm, and an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of only 4.3 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with BYD’s self-developed blade lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which is super safe and has a long service life, available in two capacity options: 71.8 kWh and 87.04 kWh, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 550 km, 662 km and 602 km respectively.
In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% with a 140 kW DC fast charger, effectively relieving range anxiety. It also supports 6 kW AC slow charging, and is equipped with an intelligent battery temperature control management system, which ensures the battery works in an appropriate temperature range, improving battery life and adaptability in different climates. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with front double-wishbone independent suspension and rear five-link independent suspension, as well as iTAC intelligent torque control system, which better balances handling and comfort.
