Exterior Design
The Toyota BZ4X adopts Toyota’s exclusive e-TNGA BEV platform design language, featuring a sleek and futuristic front fascia with a semi-enclosed hammerhead shark-style grille, paired with multi-eye LED headlight clusters integrated with adaptive high-low beam and LED daytime running lights, as well as full-width through-type LED taillights with a sharp light sword design that echoes the front light style, greatly enhancing its visual recognition. The rear is equipped with a streamlined integrated rear spoiler, which not only optimizes aerodynamic efficiency to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd but also adds a dynamic touch to its overall mid-size pure electric SUV silhouette. The body is available in various color options, including Solid Black, Pearl White, Metallic Blue, Silver Metallic, and Red Metallic, catering to diverse personalized preferences. The high-spec version is distinguished by exclusive exterior decorative strips and 20-inch aluminum alloy wheel rims, while the four-wheel drive version features unique badging and aerodynamic side air deflectors, further enhancing its modern and tough sense.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,690 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase that ensures ample interior space for passengers, especially the rear legroom which reaches up to 1,000 mm for comfortable seating for adults. Its mid-size pure electric SUV profile, combined with smooth and sharp body lines and standard door handles, effectively balances energy consumption and driving stability. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which enhances the flexibility of storage and seating, allowing the total storage space to be further expanded, with a standard trunk volume of 452L, easily accommodating luggage and outdoor camping equipment while maintaining comfortable seating for passengers, perfectly meeting family daily use and long trips. The rear bumper is designed with a sporty diffuser and black plastic protective cover, adding a touch of athleticism to the overall appearance.
Interior Design
The Toyota BZ4X is equipped with a clear 7-inch full LCD instrument cluster (with HUD design concept) and a 12.3-inch floating central touchscreen, integrated with Toyota’s latest intelligent infotainment system that supports voice recognition, OTA software upgrade, wireless mobile phone projection and navigation, delivering a smooth operational experience. Interior color schemes include single-color and two-tone options, with large-area soft wrapping on the touchable areas, paired with delicate stitching craftsmanship and piano paint decorative panels, improving both touch and visual texture while being dirt-resistant and easy to clean, suitable for family use. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch wheels, a full set of airbags, 4 PVM cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) 3.0 system, as well as practical functions like digital key, intelligent parking assistant, keyless entry and power windows, focusing on both safety and convenience.
The higher-spec premium versions add more advanced configurations, including a 360-degree camera system, solar charging dome, power-adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation functions, and a premium audio system. The interior is equipped with supportive and ergonomic seats with moderate padding and打孔 design, balancing support and wrapping to reduce fatigue during long commutes. It is also equipped with rear independent air conditioning vents, dual-zone automatic climate control, high-performance acoustic glass and a panoramic sunroof to create a quiet and comfortable cabin environment. The flexible seating layout can accommodate up to five adults, with a spacious trunk and multiple humanized storage compartments in the door panels, central armrest and center console, making it convenient to place personal items for daily use. The high-spec versions also add a knob-type electronic shifter, facial recognition camera and rear Type-C interface to enhance practicality and technology sense.
Powertrain
The Toyota BZ4X is a pure electric model available in multiple powertrain versions, including front-mounted single electric motor (front-wheel drive) and dual electric motors (four-wheel drive), powered by high-efficiency three-in-one motor systems. The single-motor version offers two power specifications, with maximum power outputs of 123 kW (167 horsepower) and 165 kW (224 horsepower) respectively, and peak torque of 266 Nm. The dual-motor four-wheel drive version has a combined maximum power of 160 kW (218 horsepower) and peak torque of 337 Nm, paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 160 km/h, accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.4 seconds for the four-wheel drive version, providing strong and smooth power performance suitable for daily commuting and complex road conditions.
The Toyota BZ4X comes standard with high-reliability ternary lithium battery packs, available in three capacities: 50.3 kWh, 57.7 kWh and 73.1 kWh, corresponding to CLTC-rated pure electric cruising ranges of 400 km, 430 km and 615 km respectively. In fast-charging mode with a maximum power of 150 kW, it takes approximately 28 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, effectively reducing charging time and enhancing travel convenience. The vehicle is also equipped with a battery temperature control system and a heat pump air conditioning system to ensure stable energy supply in cold environments, and the four-wheel drive version is equipped with the X-MODE four-wheel drive off-road assistance mode and Grip-Control intelligent creep mode, improving driving stability and passability on snowy and muddy roads.
