Exterior Design
The Chevrolet Monza inherits the brand’s iconic sporty design language, which is inspired by the Monza Circuit in Italy, symbolizing speed and passion. It features a sharp X-shaped thunderous front fascia with a split-type air grille, where the glossy black “Gold Bowtie” logo divides the grille into two parts, seamlessly connecting with the starry LED automatic induction headlights on both sides, creating a strong visual impact. The distinctive LED daytime running lights complement the sharp lines of the front bumper, further enhancing the vehicle’s aggressive and youthful vibe. The side of the body adopts smooth and dynamic double waistlines, extending from the front fender to the tail lights, paired with a sleek sloping roof and a small ducktail spoiler at the rear, creating a ready-to-run dynamic posture. The rear is equipped with dual-element LED pleasant taillights, and the RS version is connected by a chrome trim strip, with exclusive “RS” badging to highlight its sporty identity. The body offers three wheel styles (ordinary, RS and Redline) with tire specifications of 195/65 R15 and 205/55 R16, and is available in multiple color options including Phantom Black, Pearl White and Redline exclusive red accents, catering to the personalized needs of young consumers.
In terms of dimensions, the entry-level model measures 4,614 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, and 1,485 mm in height, while the higher-spec model is slightly larger with a length of 4,630 mm, and both models have a wheelbase of 2,640 mm. The 2,640 mm wheelbase ensures a comfortable 5-seat interior space that meets the needs of daily commuting and family travel. The front and rear interior headroom and legroom are well-proportioned for a compact sedan. The rear seats feature a flexible folding design, and the trunk has a large capacity of 405L, which can easily accommodate luggage, baby strollers and other items, providing more loading space for family trips.
Interior Design
The Chevrolet Monza adopts the brand’s classic flying-wing dual-cockpit design, integrated with 3D cutting process aesthetics, and the wrap-around center console extends horizontally to both sides of the door panels, creating a strong sense of space and layering. It is equipped with dual 10.25-inch floating gradient smart screens, combining a full-color LCD instrument cluster and a central touchscreen, supporting the Xiaoxue OS in-vehicle system, which can realize voice control, AR intelligent navigation, Apple CarPlay and Baidu CarLife connection, delivering a smooth and intelligent operation experience. Interior color schemes include all-black and red-black dual-tone options, with the RS version featuring red-black three-dimensional cut sports seats, eye-catching red dynamic door trim strips, and red double stitching on the seats and center console, highlighting the sporty temperament. The cockpit is covered with high-grade tactile leather and refined plastic panels, and the three-dimensional cut seats provide excellent wrapping and comfort, ensuring a pleasant riding experience for long journeys. It is paired with a leather multi-function steering wheel, a large-view sports sunroof, and silver-blue barrel-shaped air outlets, further enhancing the sense of luxury and sportiness.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 15-inch or 16-inch wheels, front dual airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, keyless entry and one-button start, among other practical functions. The higher-spec RS and Redline versions add front side airbags, side blind zone alarm, TPMS digital independent tire pressure monitoring, front seat heating, wireless charging, and electronic handbrake with Auto Hold automatic parking, among other configurations. The whole series is standard with 15 items of electronic body stability system (including ABS, EBD, TCS, HAS), and the high-strength steel usage rate of the body reaches 59%, providing comprehensive safety protection for drivers and passengers.
Powertrain
The Chevrolet Monza offers two powertrain combinations to meet different consumer needs. One is equipped with a 1.5L DVVT inline four-cylinder engine, paired with a 6-speed DCG intelligent dual-clutch transmission or a 6-speed enhanced manual transmission, delivering a maximum power output of 83 kW and peak torque of 141 Nm, with a comprehensive fuel consumption as low as 5.86 L/100 km under WLTC conditions. The other is a 1.3T dual-injection turbocharged engine combined with 48V mild hybrid technology, matched with a 6-speed automatic DSS intelligent start-stop transmission, with a maximum rated power of 120 kW and peak torque of 230 Nm, and the comprehensive fuel consumption of the whole series is as low as 4.7 L/100 km, reducing fuel consumption by 9.6% compared with the previous generation. The vehicle is also equipped with an EPS electronic power steering system, McPherson independent front suspension with anti-roll bar, and optimally adjusted multi-link independent rear suspension, providing precise handling and comfortable riding experience.
The 48V mild hybrid system consists of a 48V motor, 48V power battery, power management module and hybrid control unit, which can effectively improve the smoothness of start-up and acceleration, and further reduce fuel consumption. It supports SPORT sport mode and a closable Start&Stop intelligent start-stop system, integrating multiple functions to make driving more flexible and free. With its efficient and low-consumption power performance, the Chevrolet Monza is not only suitable for daily urban commuting, but also can easily cope with long-distance intercity travel, balancing power and fuel economy perfectly.
