Exterior Design

The Hongqi Tiangong 08 adopts a design concept that integrates traditional Oriental aesthetics with modern new energy technology, featuring a closed front fascia that inherits the brand’s “High Mountain Waterfall” design language, embedded with a luminous Hongqi vertical emblem and unique split “Dragon Eye” LED matrix headlights, which enhance its high-end and futuristic visual appeal. The side waistline is sleek and powerful, extending from the front fender to the rear taillight, combined with a dome-inspired fastback roofline, hidden door handles and jade huang-inspired chrome trim to further highlight its luxurious and dynamic posture. The rear is equipped with a through-type “Flying Wing” taillight with 3D three-dimensional relief effect, matched with a nano-ceramic coated rear bumper, and a hollow spoiler with built-in lidar at the rear of the roof, balancing functionality and aestheticism. The body has a low drag coefficient of 0.24Cd for better driving efficiency, and is available in multiple color options including Yunxi White, Xianyue Gray, Xinghe Silver, Jiye Black, Yuanshan Purple and Jinghai Blue, catering to diverse aesthetic needs.

In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,925 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, positioning as a mid-size luxury SUV with a 5-door 5-seat layout. The interior space is spacious and comfortable, with a flat rear floor design that ensures ample legroom for rear passengers. The rear seats feature a flexible split-folding design, which increases flexibility for storage and seating, expanding the trunk volume from the standard 643 liters to 2,050 liters to meet daily loading and long-distance travel needs.

Interior Design

The Hongqi Tiangong 08 features a minimalist and luxurious interior with a “Landscape Cockpit” design concept and a T-shaped symmetrical center console, creating a warm and elegant driving atmosphere. It is equipped with a 70-inch AR-HUD that projects navigation, vehicle speed and other key information directly in front of the driver’s field of vision, paired with a through-type “Tianqiong” curved screen consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument panel, a 27-inch central control screen and a 12.8-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, supporting independent operation in three zones with clear display and smooth operation.

The interior is wrapped in high-quality materials, with Nappa leather and suede mixed seats, soft-touch surfaces in high-frequency contact areas, and hand-polished lacquer craft trim panels by intangible cultural heritage craftsmen, making each vehicle unique. Five interior color schemes are available to meet personalized preferences. The seats are designed based on ergonomics with an “Ruyi” shape, supporting 18-way electric adjustment, hot stone massage and heating and ventilation functions, and the headrest is embedded with a fragrance system providing 6 Oriental fragrances. In terms of features, the standard model comes with 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, front and rear airbags, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, cruise control and a heat pump air conditioner, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds Level 3 driver-assistance systems, active braking, urban NOA and 3.3 kW external power output, as well as luxurious configurations such as air suspension and rear-seat refrigerator.

Powertrain

The Hongqi Tiangong 08 offers two power configurations to meet different needs, including plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and pure electric (BEV) versions. The PHEV version is equipped with a 3.0T V6 hybrid-specific engine and dual motors, with a combined power of 519 kW and peak torque of 850 Nm, paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.1 seconds. The BEV version provides rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options: the rear-wheel drive version is equipped with a single permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power output of 253 kW, while the all-wheel drive version adds a front electric motor with a maximum power of 202 kW, with an official top speed of 200 km/h.

In terms of batteries and range, the PHEV version has a pure electric CLTC range of 150 km. The BEV version is available with ternary lithium and lithium iron phosphate battery packs: the 111 kWh ternary lithium battery pack provides a CLTC range of 730 km for the rear-wheel drive version and 680 km for the all-wheel drive version; the high-range BEV version adopts a 120 kWh solid-state battery, offering a CLTC-rated range of 820 km, and is equipped with an 800V ultra-fast charging platform, which takes only 12 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.
