Exterior Design
The BYD Tang L EV adopts BYD’s updated Loong Face 2.0 design language, blending Eastern cultural aesthetics with cutting-edge EV styling. Its front features a closed grille paired with “split headlights” and four dragon whisker–shaped daytime running lights, while an active folding fan–style air intake optimizes aerodynamics and adds cultural flair. A roof-mounted lidar, like a “wise eye,” underscores its high-level intelligent driving capabilities.
The rear features “Bamboo Rhyme” through-type LED taillights with Chinese knot motifs, echoing a glowing “BYD” emblem. A widened high-mounted spoiler with racing-style brake lights enhances sportiness and high-speed stability. The body features hidden electric door handles, a floating roof, and 21-inch alloy wheels, delivering a drag coefficient of just 0.28Cd.
Available exterior colors include Ink Bamboo Cyan, Dark Armor Black, Starry Gray, and Fluorite White, catering to diverse aesthetic preferences.
In terms of dimensions, the Tang L EV measures 5,040 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,760 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. As a 5-door, 7-seat SUV, it offers generous headroom and legroom. The third row folds flat, expanding the maximum trunk volume to 2,380 L, with a class-leading 136 L front trunk for exceptional storage flexibility.
Interior Design
The Tang L EV’s interior harmonizes traditional Oriental elegance with modern technology. The cockpit features a dragon ridge–inspired layout with 3D bamboo wood trim, dual-layer ambient lighting, and Nappa leather seats with diamond quilting, creating a luxurious and cultural atmosphere.
It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating central touchscreen, and an AR-HUD head-up display, forming a three-screen interactive system powered by the Snapdragon 8295 chip for smooth 5G connectivity and millisecond-level voice interaction.
Interior color options include Rosy Cloud Red and Cloud Brocade Gray, matching personalized tastes. Standard features include 21-inch low-drag wheels, front/rear airbags, rear parking sensors, a 360° camera, and cruise control. Higher trims add Level 2+ DiPilot 300 driver assistance, active braking, a 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, an onboard refrigerator, and a fragrance system.
The 2+3+2 seven-seat layout offers ventilation, heating, and massage functions for the first and second rows, with the second row featuring electric leg rests and aviation headrests. The DiLink 150 intelligent cockpit supports full-scene voice control and AI assistants, ensuring a convenient and intelligent driving experience.
Powertrain & Range
The Tang L EV is built on the e-platform 3.0 and offers two powertrain options: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and dual-motor four-wheel drive (4WD). The RWD version uses a single permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 230 kW and peak torque of 360 N·m, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. The 4WD version adds a front motor, delivering a combined maximum power of 500 kW and peak torque of 420 N·m, sprinting to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 240 km/h.
It comes standard with a 100.5 kWh BYD Blade LFP battery pack (supplied by Fudi). The RWD version offers a CLTC-rated range of 670 km, while the 4WD version delivers 600 km. Equipped with a 1000V high-voltage platform, it supports megawatt-level fast charging: 30%–80% charge takes approximately 6 minutes, adding up to 370 km of range in 5 minutes. The vehicle also features efficient energy recovery and heat pump air conditioning, further optimizing real-world range.
