The BMW i5 inherits the brand’s classic design genes while integrating exclusive elements for electric models, featuring a sleek and dynamic sedan silhouette with a low and wide stance that highlights its sporty and luxurious temperament. The front fascia is equipped with the iconic BMW illuminated kidney grille, surrounded by blue accents that signify its pure electric identity, paired with sharp LED adaptive headlights and L-shaped daytime running lights, creating a bold and sophisticated visual impact. The rear end adopts narrow L-shaped taillights connected by a slim chrome strip, which emphasizes the vehicle’s width, and the hidden exhaust design (consistent with electric vehicle characteristics) and a subtle rear spoiler further enhance its aerodynamic performance and sporty appeal. The body is available in a variety of premium color options, including Mineral White, Carbon Black, Quantum Blue, Rock Grey and Sapphire Black, with optional personalized exterior packages such as the M Sport Package and Titan Gold exterior components for a more distinctive look.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5,060 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,515 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,995 mm, providing ample interior space for both front and rear passengers. Interior Design
The BMW i5 boasts a modern and minimalist interior design, focusing on luxury, comfort and intelligence. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch floating central touchscreen integrated into the BMW Curved Display, delivering an outstanding visual experience with high screen clarity and smooth operation. The cabin is adorned with premium materials, including perforated Veganza upholstery and optional Merino leather, paired with FSC-certified wood trim and the optional Crystal texture interior components, elevating the overall luxury atmosphere. The innovative BMW Interaction Bar spans across the dashboard and into the door panels, offering customizable ambient lighting and touch-sensitive controls for climate and media settings, enhancing the intelligent interaction experience.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, front and rear side airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, the Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof, and multi-zone automatic air conditioning, among other practical and luxurious functions. The higher-spec models add Level 2+ driver-assistance systems (including Driving Assistant Professional), active braking, a 360-degree panoramic camera system, Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Powertrain
The BMW i5 offers three distinct powertrain configurations to meet different driving preferences. It is equipped with front-mounted single or dual electric motors, paired with a single-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive eDrive40 model delivers a maximum power output of 340 hp (250 kW) and peak torque of 430 Nm, with an official top speed of 193 km/h. The all-wheel-drive xDrive40 model features dual electric motors with a combined maximum power of 389 hp (287 kW) and peak torque of 600 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. The high-performance M60 xDrive model, also with dual motors, boasts a total maximum power of 593 hp (442 kW) and peak torque of 820 Nm, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 230 km/h.
The BMW i5 comes standard with an 84.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, offering WLTP-rated ranges of up to 582 km for the eDrive40, up to 428 km for the xDrive40, and up to 516 km for the M60 xDrive. In fast-charging mode (205 kW), it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, and it also supports AC charging for convenient daily use. The vehicle also features BMW EfficientDynamics technologies to optimize energy consumption, ensuring a perfect balance between efficiency and performance.
