The BMW iX3 is a midsize all-electric SUV from BMW Brilliance, which made its global debut in China on September 13, 2020. It is the first production vehicle to feature the fifth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology, equipped with a synchronous motor with an 30% increase in power density and a battery with 30% higher energy density that does not use rare earth elements. It offers a range of 500 kilometers under NEDC conditions, with an energy consumption of 16.7 kWh per 100 kilometers, and can be charged to 80% capacity in 45 minutes using fast charging.

Exterior Design

The BMW iX3 adopts pure electric compact luxury SUV design language, equipped with a closed double-kidney front grille and adaptive LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with LED taillight groups and aerodynamic rear bumper trim. It is available in multiple body color options, including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Silver, Arctic Grey and Phytonic Blue. The model supports 19-inch, 20-inch and 21-inch wheel configurations for different versions.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4746 mm in length, 1891 mm in width, and 1683 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2864 mm. The model adopts a 5-door 5-seater layout. The vehicle is fitted with electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and electric tailgate as standard.

Interior Design

The BMW iX3 is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen. Interior color schemes include Black, Coffee, Ivory White and Mocha, matched with leather upholstery and aluminum alloy decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning.
In terms of configurations, the standard model is equipped with front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, and constant-speed cruise control. It comes with keyless entry, one-key start and mobile phone interconnection functions. The high-spec version is fitted with a 360-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system.

Powertrain

The BMW iX3 adopts the fifth-generation BMW eDrive electric system, providing single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive configurations with single-speed electric transmission. The single-motor version delivers a maximum power of 210 kW and peak torque of 400 Nm. The dual-motor four-wheel drive version outputs a comprehensive maximum power of 340 kW and peak torque of 645 Nm. The electronically limited top speed of the vehicle is 180 km/h.
The vehicle is equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack. The CLTC-rated cruising range covers 540 km and 900 km for different versions. It supports DC fast charging function, which can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes. The model supports energy recovery and OTA upgrade functions.
