The BMW iX3 inherits the brand’s classic SUV design genes while integrating exclusive elements for electric models, featuring a robust and sophisticated SUV silhouette with a sturdy stance that highlights its luxurious and practical temperament. The front fascia is equipped with the iconic BMW vertical “Angel Wing” integrated kidney grille, seamlessly integrated with flattened LED headlights, surrounded by illuminated strips and dynamic welcome light effects that signify its pure electric identity, paired with sharp LED adaptive headlights, creating a bold and futuristic visual impact. The rear end adopts narrow smoked dot-matrix taillights, paired with a small-sized rear spoiler and a diffuser design that enhances its sporty attributes, while the hidden exhaust design (consistent with electric vehicle characteristics) further emphasizes its pure electric identity. The body is available in a variety of premium color options, with three optional exterior packages to meet personalized needs: the basic package with a simple overall look, the M Sport Package with larger air intake decorations and body-color rear surround, and the M Performance Sport Package with black high-gloss trim for a more dynamic appearance.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,782 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,897 mm, providing ample interior space for both front and rear passengers; the long-wheelbase version tailored for the Chinese market has a wheelbase extended by more than 100 mm, significantly improving rear legroom. The body adopts an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.24 cd, which not only improves driving stability but also enhances energy efficiency. The rear seats feature a flexible split-folding design, which increases flexibility for storage and seating, while the 520-liter trunk capacity (expandable to 1,750 liters) and a 58-liter front trunk meet the needs of daily commuting and long-distance travel, balancing practicality and luxury.
Interior Design
The BMW iX3 boasts a modern and minimalist interior design, focusing on luxury, comfort and intelligence, based on the BMW Neue Klasse platform with a comprehensive upgrade in intelligence and material quality. It is equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a floating central touchscreen integrated into the BMW Curved Display, delivering an outstanding visual experience with high screen clarity and smooth operation. The cabin is adorned with premium materials, offering four interior themes and seven material combinations, including Econeer eco-friendly fabric, perforated Veganza upholstery, optional Merino leather, and M PerformTex knitting/suede, paired with exquisite trim pieces, elevating the overall luxury atmosphere. The innovative steering wheel features a distinctive function island button area with vertical arrangement, and four styles are available, including the first-ever white version as an optional BMW Individual customization, ensuring safe and convenient operation while enhancing personalization.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 20-inch aerodynamic wheels, driver and front passenger airbags, front side airbags, front center interactive airbags, front and rear head airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, and multi-zone automatic air conditioning, among other practical and luxurious functions. The higher-spec models add Level 2+ driver-assistance systems (including Driving Assistant Professional), active braking, a 360-degree panoramic camera system, premium surround sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with multiple electronic safety systems including ABS, EBD, and EPS, further improving driving safety and convenience.
Powertrain
The BMW iX3 is equipped with the sixth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive system, offering a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration in its launch model (iX3 50 xDrive) to meet high-performance driving needs. It is paired with a single-speed automatic transmission, delivering a combined maximum power output of 345 kW (469 hp) and peak torque of 645 Nm, ensuring strong and smooth power output throughout the driving process, with an official top speed that meets daily and long-distance travel needs.
The BMW iX3 comes standard with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of over 900 km for the iX3 50 xDrive model, while the previous model has a CLTC-rated range of 550 km, and actual driving range can even exceed the official NEDC range in practical tests, with minimal battery attenuation after long-term use. In fast-charging mode, it can quickly replenish power, and it also supports AC charging for convenient daily use, compatible with 220V household charging. The vehicle also features BMW EfficientDynamics technologies to optimize energy consumption, ensuring a perfect balance between efficiency and performance, and the battery pack comes with an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty for added peace of mind.
