Exterior Design
The BYD Han L EV adopts the upgraded “Loong Face” design language exclusive to BYD’s Dynasty Series, inheriting the spiritual totem of the Chinese dragon and integrating more unique Chinese cultural symbols as well as advanced electric vehicle design elements. Its front fascia features a fully closed design that is more in line with the characteristics of pure electric vehicles, paired with sharp and sleek “Fangtong” (square-pupil) inspired headlights, which draw inspiration from Chinese culture to add vitality and high recognition to the overall look. The distinctive three-dimensional dragon beard lines extend to the side of the vehicle, making the front face wider and more majestic, while the hollowed-out air guide grooves on both sides of the front bumper enhance its sporty atmosphere and aerodynamic performance. At the rear, the eye-catching through-type taillights inherit the Chinese knot design, taking shapes from phoenix wings and named “Feng Zhi Ling” (Phoenix Feathers), with a three-dimensional curved surface that complements the body lines perfectly and a dynamic flowing light effect when lit. The vehicle is also equipped with a hidden rear spoiler, hidden door handles and a laser radar on the roof (for high-end models), creating a simple, high-end and technological visual effect. The body is available in multiple color options, including classic Crystal White, Deep Sea Blue, Dynasty Red, as well as new colors such as Luminous Silver, Ink Bamboo Green and Duan Inkstone Gray, catering to different aesthetic needs.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle maintains the same excellent size as the Han L series, measuring 5,050 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm, providing a spacious and comfortable riding space for both front and rear passengers. The smooth coupe-style roof line stretches from the A-pillar to the rear, outlining a dynamic and elegant posture, while the C-pillar trim inspired by Chinese calligraphy strokes forms a suspended roof visual effect, adding a sense of fashion and cultural charm. The rear seats feature a flexible folding design, which not only improves the flexibility of seating and storage space but also meets the diverse needs of daily commuting and long-distance travel. In addition, the front trunk with a capacity of 160L further enhances the practicality of the vehicle.
Interior Design
The BYD Han L EV features a minimalist and luxurious interior style with a symmetrical layout that balances practicality and aesthetics, consistent with the high-end positioning of the Han L series. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating central touchscreen, and a W-HUD head-up display system, forming a three-screen interactive matrix that delivers an outstanding visual and operational experience. The interior design draws inspiration from the Chinese traditional architectural Wudian roof, integrating the concept of “harmony between man and nature” and adopting 3D bamboo and wood decorative panels to create an elegant visual effect and highlight the unique taste of Chinese design. Interior color schemes include Elegant Black, Warm Beige, and Luxury Brown, catering to personalized preferences for a high-end cockpit atmosphere. The new three-spoke steering wheel and electronic column shifter design further enhance the sense of technology and luxury.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 19-inch two-color low-drag rims, front and rear side airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof, among other practical functions. The higher-spec flagship version adds the Tian Shen Zhi Yan B advanced driver-assistance system (DiPilot 300) with a laser radar and NVIDIA Orin X high-computing chip, as well as practical and luxurious features such as a Denon HiFi audio system, an independent compressor car refrigerator, a car fragrance system, and heating/ventilation/massage functions for four seats (except the middle rear seat). The whole vehicle is equipped with the DiLink 150 intelligent cockpit with a 4nm process chip, supporting full-vehicle intelligent voice interaction and 100% compatibility with the Android application ecosystem, and also accesses the DeepSeek R1 full-power large model, making intelligent travel more convenient and safe.
Powertrain and Range
The BYD Han L EV is built on the super e-platform and is equipped with the global’s first mass-produced passenger car full-domain 1000V high-voltage architecture, paired with a 30,000-rpm electric motor and 1500V silicon carbide power chip, delivering extraordinary performance. It offers two power configurations: rear-wheel drive and dual-motor four-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive model has a maximum power of 500 kW, while the four-wheel drive model has a maximum power of 810 kW (230 kW for the front motor and 580 kW for the rear motor). Both configurations are paired with a single-speed electric transmission; the four-wheel drive model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, with an actual measured top speed of 305 km/h, delivering strong performance. In addition, it is equipped with electric drive boost and battery self-heating technology, which can improve the low-temperature charging speed by 53.1% in cold areas.
The vehicle comes standard with an 83.212 kWh flash-charge battery pack, supporting mega-watt flash charging with a maximum charging power of 1000 kW and a charging rate of 10C. The rear-wheel drive model offers a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 701 km, while the four-wheel drive model has a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 601 km. In fast-charging mode, it only takes about 5 minutes to charge to increase the range by 400 km, and about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, realizing the transformation from “people waiting for cars” to “cars waiting for people” during charging. It also supports a 6 kW external power output function, meeting the needs of outdoor camping and emergency power supply. In addition, the vehicle has an excellent energy efficiency performance, with a minimum 100km power consumption of 10.6 kW·h, effectively reducing the cost of long-distance travel.
