The Changan UNI-V iDD is Changan Automobile’s first plug-in hybrid coupe built on the New Blue Whale Powertrain Platform. Positioned as a “pioneering, aesthetically designed, intelligent electric sports coupe,” it features four key characteristics: “greater efficiency, sportier performance, enhanced safety, and advanced intelligence,” and supports both plug-in hybrid and range-extended modes.

Exterior Design

The Changan UNI-V iDD adopts the iconic design language of the UNI series, featuring a borderless front grille composed of gradient triangular elements that broadens the visual width of the front face. It is equipped with sharp LED headlight groups and a front through-type LED light strip embedded with diamond-shaped LED beads, which not only enhances the sense of future technology but also improves recognition at night.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle has a length of 4,720 mm, a width of 1,838 mm, and a height of 1,435 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, presenting an excellent wheelbase ratio and bringing a comfortable riding space. The side of the body adopts a smooth fastback shape, matched with hidden smart welcome door handles, which not only enhances the sense of technology but also effectively reduces wind resistance, with the overall wind resistance coefficient reduced by 7.4%. The rear seats feature a split-folding design, which increases the flexibility of storage.

Interior Design

The Changan UNI-V iDD is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating central touchscreen, forming a dual-screen interactive system that delivers an outstanding visual experience and convenient operation. The instrument cluster adopts a Möbius layout, clearly displaying hybrid-specific information such as vehicle speed, pure electric range, and energy flow, and the interface turns red in sport mode to enhance the driving atmosphere. Interior color schemes include Stream Sand.
In terms of features, the standard model is equipped with 17-inch wheels, front side airbags, rear parking sensors, a 540° panoramic image with a transparent chassis, cruise control, and other practical functions. The higher-spec models add Level 2 driver-assistance systems, active braking, 64-color ambient lights, front-row wireless phone charging, and practical features such as power-adjustable and heated/ventilated front seats, further enhancing the comfort and intelligence of the vehicle. In addition, the whole vehicle is equipped with a voice recognition control system, supporting voice control of multimedia, navigation, calls, air.

Powertrain

The Changan UNI-V iDD is equipped with the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5T turbocharged engine and a front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, matched with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission. The maximum power of the drive motor is 158 kW, and the peak torque is 330 N·m, with a combined system power of 158 kW and an official top speed of 185 km/h, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration in only 6
The vehicle supports both fast and slow charging interfaces; the long-range version is equipped with fast charging as standard, and it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% in fast-charging mode. It adopts the world’s first 10-layer Hairpin flat-wire oil-cooled motor technology, with a motor efficiency of up to 97.8%, bringing high performance while ensuring a quieter driving experience. In addition, it is equipped with an iEM advanced intelligent power control system, which intelligently switches the driving strategy according to real-time road conditions to achieve a balance between power and energy consumption.
