Exterior Design
The Dongfeng Aeolus Mage adopts the brand’s “Galaxy Language” family design language, positioning as a compact SUV that integrates youthfulness, sportiness and practicality, focusing on meeting the needs of home use and daily commuting. It has a sleek and dynamic overall shape, with a low and wide body posture that enhances both visual impact and aerodynamic performance. Its front fascia features a frameless grille, available in two styles: “Star Cluster” with fine chrome trim and “Star Orbit” with a large-size blackened design, paired with sharp LED headlights with lens and blackened treatment. The headlights are connected by a through-type daytime running light, forming a distinctive “A-shaped” light pattern when lit, which greatly enhances the vehicle’s recognition.
The side profile has smooth and dynamic lines, with a slightly sloping溜背 roof that creates a floating roof effect when matched with the blackened A-pillars and window frames. The segmented waistline runs through the entire body, stretching the visual length of the vehicle. It is equipped with pop-up hidden door handles to reduce wind resistance, and the wheel arches and side skirts are decorated with black trim, paired with 18-inch five-spoke blackened aluminum alloy wheels with tire specification of 225/60 R18, highlighting the sporty temperament. The rear design echoes the front face, with a blackened through-type taillight group, a small ducktail spoiler on the roof and a high-mounted brake light, paired with a three-dimensional black rear bumper and bilateral dual exhaust layout with black diffuser, presenting a strong track mecha style. The body is available in multiple color options to meet the diverse aesthetic needs of different users.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,667 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm, which is advantageous in the same class and provides ample space for the passenger compartment. The wide-body and low-lying posture not only enhances the sense of stability but also optimizes the riding space. The rear seats support 40:60 split folding, and the trunk volume can be expanded to 1,380 liters when fully folded, easily accommodating baby carriages, camping equipment and other large items, perfectly meeting the needs of family travel and daily loading.
Interior Design
The Dongfeng Aeolus Mage adopts a simple and practical interior layout, focusing on home comfort and operational convenience. It is equipped with a dual-screen combination consisting of a 10-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.5-inch floating central touchscreen, integrated with the WindLink intelligent vehicle system, which supports satellite navigation, in-car 4G network, WIFI hotspots, OTA upgrades and voice recognition control. The voice recognition system supports continuous voice commands and wake-up-free operation, bringing a convenient intelligent experience. The interior adopts an electronic column shifter design, which frees up the central channel space, and the layered suspended central console is equipped with storage slots, water cup holders and electronic handbrake, which is practical and space-saving.
The interior of the 2026 model is only available in Baoge Black color, while the 2025 model offers more color options to cater to different personalized preferences. The whole vehicle adopts a 5-door 5-seat layout, and the seats are covered with fabric or imitation leather materials, with comfortable and supportive padding. The driver’s seat of the high-spec model supports electric adjustment, and all models allow the rear seats to be tilted in proportion, optimizing the flexibility of the riding space. The rear floor is flat, which improves the riding comfort of the middle passenger, and the rear air vents are standard equipment to ensure the comfort of all passengers.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with practical functions such as tire pressure alarm, rear parking sensors, rearview camera, cruise control and vehicle networking. It also has convenient configurations including multiple USB interfaces, keyless entry, keyless start, four-door one-touch window lifting with anti-pinch function. The higher-spec version is equipped with 360° panoramic image, 180° transparent chassis, automatic air conditioning, in-car PM2.5 filtration device and fragrance system, further improving driving safety and riding comfort. In addition, it is equipped with 6-channel speakers to meet the basic entertainment needs of passengers.
Powertrain
The Dongfeng Aeolus Mage offers two power options: 1.5T gasoline engine and 1.5T MAHE DH-i hybrid system, built on a mature platform to balance performance and fuel economy. The 1.5T gasoline engine has a maximum power of 150 kW (204 horsepower) and a peak torque of 305 N·m, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of about 8.5 seconds and an official top speed of 190 km/h, delivering strong and smooth dynamic performance.
The 1.5T MAHE DH-i hybrid system consists of a turbocharged engine and dual electric motors, paired with a 4-speed DHT hybrid-specific transmission, integrating power split technology to achieve smooth shifting without obvious frustration. The total system power reaches 215 kW and the total system torque is 565 N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of only 6 seconds, comparable to high-performance models. The 1.5T gasoline version has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 7.09 L/100km under WLTC conditions, while the hybrid version has a comprehensive fuel consumption as low as 4.97 L/100km under WLTC conditions, with a comprehensive cruising range of more than 1,200 km, effectively relieving range anxiety. The whole series is equipped with MacPherson front suspension and multi-link rear suspension, providing economic, comfortable and sporty driving modes to adapt to different driving scenarios.
