Exterior Design
The Hongqi H5 PHEV inherits the brand’s classic Chinese-style symmetrical aesthetic design language, featuring a large-sized straight waterfall grille with 12 chrome strips inspired by the twelve golden pillars of the Temple of Heaven, paired with a贯穿式 red flag emblem light that lights up slowly when unlocking the vehicle, creating a strong sense of ritual. It is equipped with split headlights, with slender and sharp arrow-feather LED daytime running lights on the upper part that blend perfectly with the edge of the grille, and sharp fang-shaped far and near light groups on the lower part, enhancing the overall sense of hierarchy.
The rear is designed in a simple and elegant style, equipped with a wing-shaped through-type smoked taillight whose light strip shape echoes the front daytime running lights, and a ducktail spoiler on the top of the trunk to enhance its sporty appearance. The hidden exhaust layout keeps the rear lines clean and neat. The body is available in three color options: Quantum Silver Gray, Night Black, and Alpine White, showing a refined and luxurious texture in different light.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,988 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Benefiting from the reasonable roof curve design and long wheelbase, the interior space is quite spacious. The rear headroom reaches 956 mm and the knee room is 145 mm, providing comfortable riding experience for passengers of different heights. The rear seats feature a split-folding design, which can further expand the storage space to meet the needs of carrying large items.
Interior Design
The Hongqi H5 PHEV adopts an enveloping cockpit design, equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.6-inch vertical central touchscreen, forming a strong sense of technology and delivering an excellent visual experience. The interior color schemes include Graphite Black, Graphite Black with Pomegranate Red, and Graphite Black with Moon White Blue, catering to different personalized preferences of users.
In terms of materials and details, the interior is mostly wrapped in leather and soft plastic materials, matched with exquisite wood grain decoration and chrome strips, creating an elegant and luxurious atmosphere. It is equipped with environment-friendly materials with low odor, whose formaldehyde concentration meets the maternal and infant level standard, protecting the physical and mental health of passengers. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, front side airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a 40W wireless phone charger, among other practical functions.
The higher-spec version adds a 360-degree panoramic camera system, automatic parking, seat heating and ventilation, as well as practical features such as 3.5 kW external power output. It is also equipped with Hongqi intelligent connection system, supporting voice control, vehicle networking, OTA upgrade and other intelligent functions, making driving more convenient.
Powertrain
The Hongqi H5 PHEV is equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T hybrid-specific engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The engine has a maximum power output of 110 kW and a peak torque of 225 Nm, while the motor has a maximum power output of 168 kW and a peak torque of 340 Nm. It is paired with a DHT hybrid-specific transmission, with an official top speed of 180 km/h and an acceleration time of 7.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The vehicle is available with two lithium iron phosphate battery packs of 18.4 kWh and 23.9 kWh, offering CLTC-rated pure electric ranges of 130 km and 170 km respectively, and a comprehensive CLTC range of up to 1600 km. In fast-charging mode with 60 kW power, it takes approximately 13.7 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, effectively relieving range anxiety.
