The Hongqi HS3 PHEV is a compact plug-in hybrid SUV launched by FAW Hongqi on September 21, 2025. The vehicle is available in two trim levels: “Jingwei” and “Jingwei PLUS.” It measures 4,655 × 1,900 × 1,668 mm with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm, and features the brand’s signature vertical-slat grille and split-headlight design.

Exterior Design

The Hongqi HS3 PHEV inherits the brand’s iconic “High Mountain Waterfall” straight waterfall grille design, featuring polished chrome strips that exude a refined and dynamic aura, paired with an optional luminous Hongqi emblem extending from the grille to the hood, creating a strong sense of ceremony when lit at night. It is equipped with split-type matrix LED headlights with built-in crystal diamond elements and distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights, which support adaptive high and low beam functions, enhancing both technological sense and driving safety. The rear is fitted with a through-type smoked taillight with C-shaped light strips, and a prominent roof spoiler that optimizes aerodynamic performance while strengthening the sporty appearance, complemented by a smoked rear bumper and chrome trim for a more sophisticated look.
In terms of body colors, the vehicle offers a variety of options to cater to young users’ aesthetic preferences, including classic solid colors and fashionable two-tone color schemes. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,655 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,668 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm. The spacious wheelbase ensures ample legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, and the 5-seat layout with foldable rear seats can be converted into a flat loading space, with a luggage compartment volume ranging from 428L to 1476L, easily meeting the needs of daily commuting and family camping.

Interior Design

The interior of the Hongqi HS3 PHEV takes “new Chinese aesthetics” as the core design concept, integrating intelligent technology with humanistic care. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.6-inch vertical central touchscreen, forming a dual-screen interaction system with the Qisi 1.0 in-vehicle system, which supports OTA upgrades and voice control for 11 functions including windows and air conditioning, delivering a smooth and convenient intelligent experience. The cabin is wrapped in high-quality materials, including Nappa leather seats with diamond stitching and perforated craftsmanship, soft leather and wood trim on the center console, and matte metal decorative strips, creating a high-end and comfortable tactile and visual experience.
Interior color schemes include the newly added moon white and blue color, as well as classic two-tone options such as black/beige, satisfying personalized needs. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a PM2.5 filtration system with a fragrance device. The higher-spec version adds a 360-degree camera system, 253-color ambient light, a Dynaudio sound system, dual wireless charging panels, and a 3.3 kW external power output, further enhancing comfort and practicality.

Powertrain

The Hongqi HS3 PHEV is equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine combined with a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor, forming a plug-in hybrid system paired with a 1-speed DHT transmission. The 1.5T engine delivers a maximum power of 124 kW and a peak torque of 258 N·m, while the motor has a maximum power of 140 kW and a peak torque of 280 N·m, enabling the vehicle to achieve an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h, balancing power performance and fuel economy.
The vehicle is standardly equipped with an 18.4 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 115 km and a comprehensive CLTC range of up to 1435 km. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%, effectively solving range anxiety. The fuel consumption under WLTC feed-in condition is as low as 1.3 L/100km, achieving excellent energy-saving performance for daily use.
