Exterior Design
The Kia EV5 adopts Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, featuring a bold and futuristic front fascia with a new EV-specific “Tiger Face” and a sleek integrated grille, paired with distinctive “Star Map” LED daytime running lights and projection LED headlights that greatly enhance the vehicle’s recognition. The side of the body boasts a strong and rugged profile, with flush door handles to reduce drag coefficient, a three-dimensional side garnish that reinforces its solid stance, and an extended D-pillar that enhances interior spaciousness. The rear is equipped with a downward-slanted roof spoiler and “Star Map” signature LED tail lights, creating an unmissable futuristic road presence. The body is available in three color options: Gravity Grey, Pearl White, and Electric Blue.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Benefiting from the electric-global modular platform (E-GMP), the interior space is fully optimized, with ample headroom and legroom for both front and rear seats, providing a comfortable seating experience for up to five passengers. The rear seats feature a 0° fully flat folding design, which greatly enhances storage and seating flexibility, easily accommodating large items or serving as a bed for outdoor adventures.
Interior Design
The Kia EV5 is equipped with a wide panoramic display integrating a digital instrument cluster and a high-resolution central touchscreen, delivering an intuitive and immersive visual and operational experience. The interior adopts a lounge-inspired design, with premium relaxation front seats that offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions for the driver, along with wrap-around ambient lighting to enhance comfort. Interior color schemes include Black, Light Beige, and Gray-Blue Two-tone, catering to different personalized preferences. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, ABS, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and electronic power steering, among other practical functions. The higher-spec GT-Line version adds a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, one-touch start, cruise control, as well as advanced features such as a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot view monitor, and remote smart parking assist 2.0.
Powertrain
The Kia EV5 offers multiple powertrain options to meet different user needs. It is available with a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering a maximum power output of 160 kW and peak torque of 310 Nm, paired with a single-speed electric transmission and front-wheel drive configuration. The high-spec AWD version is equipped with dual motors with a combined maximum power output of 230 kW (308 hp) and peak torque of 480 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds. The vehicle comes standard with a 88.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of up to 720 km. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 27 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. Additionally, it is equipped with a V2L 220V power output function and an efficient heat pump air conditioning system, enhancing practicality and energy efficiency.
