Exterior Design
The Kia Sonet adopts the brand’s “Bold&Wild” new design concept, featuring a compact and dynamic style that perfectly caters to the aesthetic needs of young users, making it distinctive in the subcompact SUV segment. It is equipped with the iconic tiger-nose grille with a dot-matrix layout, decorated with chrome trims that enhance its sense of refinement. The grille is paired with Star-Map LED headlights and high-gloss black decorative elements, while the front bumper is equipped with silver trims at the bottom, creating a fashionable and aggressive front face.
The Kia Sonet is fitted with an integrated rear spoiler and a high-mounted stop lamp, and its rear end is adorned with sleek Star-Map LED combination taillights, which are highly recognizable when lit. The 5-door 5-seat SUV body style balances practicality and aesthetics, facilitating easy entry and exit for passengers. It also comes with black roof, black exterior rearview mirrors, and 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, further enhancing its fashionable temperament. The body is available in multiple color options including Pearl White, Aurora Black, Olive Green, Pearl White (with black roof/dual-color), and Dynamic Red (with black roof/dual-color), catering to diverse personalized preferences.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,110 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. This compact dimension configuration not only makes it easy to drive and park in narrow urban streets but also provides sufficient interior space for five passengers, ensuring a comfortable riding experience. The rear seats can be reclined in a 60:40 split, which greatly improves space utilization and easily meets the diverse storage needs of daily commuting and short trips.
Interior Design
The Kia Sonet features a layered and refined interior design, with matte silver trim panels throughout the cabin that enhance the overall sense of sophistication. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD driver information cluster and a 10.25-inch HD touch screen integrated into a single display, which is equipped with Kia Connect&Baidu Intelligent Connectivity System 3.0, supporting voice control, real-time online navigation, remote control, vehicle-home connectivity, and online entertainment functions. The system also supports OTA upgrade, ensuring the vehicle stays up-to-date.
The interior is equipped with ergonomic high-grade leather seats, which are wide and thick, providing excellent wrapping and support to alleviate fatigue during long-distance driving. The front seat headrests are 4-way adjustable and the rear seat headrests are 2-way adjustable, catering to the riding needs of passengers of different sizes. It is equipped with manual or automatic air conditioning, and practical configurations include wireless mobile phone charging, smart key&one-button start, BLE mobile phone Bluetooth key, and multiple charging interfaces. Higher-spec models are also equipped with a Bose audio system and 360° panoramic camera, while safety configurations such as six airbags and L2-level intelligent driving assistance systems ensure driving safety.
Powertrain
The Kia Sonet offers multiple powertrain options to suit different usage scenarios, including petrol and diesel engines, paired with various transmission systems. The petrol options include a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine, while the diesel option is a 1.5-liter engine. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers 84 kW (113 bhp) of maximum power and 144 Nm of peak torque, providing smooth and linear power output.
Transmission options include 5-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and IVT intelligent continuously variable transmission, depending on the engine configuration. The vehicle adopts a front-engine front-wheel-drive layout, with a suspension system consisting of front MacPherson struts and rear torsion beam coupled axles, which can effectively filter road bumps and ensure a comfortable driving experience. The official top speed varies by powertrain, and the fuel tank capacity is designed to meet the needs of daily commuting and short-distance travel, with excellent fuel economy.
