Exterior Design
The MG5 adopts a youthful and dynamic design language that combines sporty genes with practical aesthetics, featuring a sharp front fascia with a blackened honeycomb grille, distinctive sharp-eyed LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, and stylish split-type LED taillights that create a vivid visual effect. The rear is equipped with a small-sized sporty rear spoiler, which not only enhances the overall sporty sense but also optimizes aerodynamic performance. The vehicle comes standard with sporty lower包围 and 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the higher-spec version is equipped with 17-inch smoked multi-spoke wheels paired with sporty calipers. The body is available in multiple color options, including Dynamic Orange, Glacier White, Carbon Gray, Flame Red, and Sky Blue.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,675 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width, and 1,473 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. Its sleek fastback roof line and smooth body lines create a dynamic and streamlined appearance, perfectly balancing sportiness and daily practicality. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which not only increases flexibility for storage and seating but also expands the trunk space, easily accommodating daily necessities, luggage and small travel items.
Interior Design
The MG5 is equipped with a 7-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch floating central touchscreen, forming a dual-screen linkage design that delivers a concise and fashionable visual experience and smooth operation supported by an intelligent car system. Interior color schemes include Black and Gray, Black and Red, and All Black, paired with soft plastic materials and decorative strips on the center console and door panels, catering to youthful personalized preferences and enhancing the comfortable and sporty texture.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, fabric sport seats, manual air conditioning, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds dual-zone automatic air conditioning, leather seats, front seat heating, a 360-degree panoramic camera, and a 6-speaker audio system, as well as practical features such as electric adjustable main driver’s seat and steering wheel shift paddles.
Powertrain
The MG5 offers two powertrain options to meet different needs. The front-mounted 1.5L naturally aspirated engine delivers a maximum power output of 88 kW (120 horsepower) and peak torque of 150 Nm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), with smooth power output and an official top speed of 180 km/h.
The 1.5T turbocharged engine option delivers a maximum power output of 127 kW (173 horsepower) and peak torque of 275 Nm, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The vehicle achieves a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.1 L/100km for the 1.5L version and 6.5 L/100km for the 1.5T version, supporting 92-octane fuel, which perfectly balances performance and fuel economy for daily commuting.
