The Polestar 2 adopts a sleek and minimalist design language that inherits the brand’s family-style aesthetics, integrating the essence of Nordic minimalism and sporty genes, combining compact pure electric sedan practicality with luxury and performance temperament, featuring a distinctive dot-matrix front grille that highlights its performance-oriented identity, different from the fully closed design of other pure electric models. It is equipped with sharp “Thor’s Hammer” Pixel LED headlights composed of 84 LED light sources, which can realize active avoidance automatic high beam function, enhance night driving safety and have high recognition, and stylish upward-folded through-type LED taillights that form a unique semi-closed rectangular shape, echoing the front lights and forming a coherent and unified design language. The rear is equipped with a subtle roof spoiler and a minimalist rear bumper, which not only enhances the overall sporty appeal but also optimizes aerodynamic performance, paired with traditional door handles (adhering to the brand’s pursuit of practicality), frameless exterior rearview mirrors and a streamlined fastback silhouette to further reduce wind resistance. The vehicle comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the higher-spec version or models with performance package are equipped with 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and the body is available in multiple color options including the newly added “Dune” metallic paint, with smooth and neat body lines and expanded black wheel arches, presenting a dynamic and sophisticated visual effect that perfectly caters to the needs of high-end users pursuing personality and driving fun.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,606 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width, and 1,479 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. Its well-proportioned compact pure electric sedan posture and sleek fastback roof lines create an elegant and sporty appearance, perfectly balancing daily usability and visual appeal. It adopts a 4-door 5-seat layout, with a spacious and flat interior floor that maximizes the use of space. The vehicle is equipped with a practical trunk with sufficient volume, featuring a large opening and a low floor for easy loading of luggage and daily items. The reasonable storage space design throughout the vehicle includes multiple humanized storage areas, easily accommodating daily necessities, family luggage and travel items, meeting the diverse needs of daily commuting, weekend trips and long-distance family travels. The long wheelbase also ensures ample legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers, enhancing riding comfort to a great extent.
Interior Design
The Polestar 2 features a comfortable and intelligent wrap-around cockpit design, adhering to the Nordic concept of safety, health and environmental protection, with a minimalist yet elegant style that avoids redundancy and abandons any animal-derived materials. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD digital instrument cluster and an 11.15-inch horizontal central touchscreen, forming an intelligent interactive design that delivers a concise and user-friendly visual experience. It operates smoothly supported by the advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and the native Android Automotive OS intelligent system, compatible with Apple CarPlay, integrating functions from Gaode, Keda Xunfei and other partners, with an AI voice assistant that supports voice control of air conditioning, navigation and multimedia functions, providing convenient intelligent interaction experience. Interior color schemes include multiple themes, paired with high-quality environmental protection materials, with standard WeaveTech eco-friendly fabric seats (premium leather seats available as an option), soft wrapping materials on the center console and door panels to enhance comfort, and the higher-spec version offers the MicroTech bio-fabric seat option with carbon black color and white stitching, creating a quiet, healthy and luxurious cockpit atmosphere that caters to high-end users’ preferences. It also has a reasonable interior layout, abundant storage space, a panoramic sunroof without sunshade, and multiple Type-C interfaces, bringing a more convenient and comfortable riding experience.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, comfortable seats, automatic constant temperature air conditioning, keyless entry and start, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera, as well as an 8-airbag safety system to ensure riding safety. The higher-spec version adds a high-definition panoramic camera, ambient light, and the optional 14-speaker 1350W Bowers&Wilkins audio system, as well as Pilot Assist driving assistance functions supported by multiple radars and cameras, supporting multiple complex driving scenarios and enhancing convenience and safety. It also has front seats with heating and ventilation functions (available as options), and the whole series is equipped with humanized configurations to further enhance the sense of luxury and practicality. The performance package also adds golden seat belts and golden wheel valve caps to highlight its sporty identity.
Powertrain
The Polestar 4 is a pure electric compact luxury sedan, offering multiple power combinations: single-motor front-wheel drive (with high and low power tunings) and dual-motor four-wheel drive. The single-motor low-power version has a maximum power of 165kW and a peak torque of 330N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.4 seconds. The single-motor high-power version has a maximum power of 220kW and a peak torque of 490N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.2 seconds. The dual-motor four-wheel drive version has a maximum comprehensive power of 310kW and a peak comprehensive torque of 740N·m, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds, delivering strong and responsive power output. All versions are paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with smooth power output, and the maximum top speed is limited to 205km/h. It is equipped with reliable Brembo brake calipers (included in the performance package), ensuring linear braking feel and excellent braking performance, and is also equipped with multiple safety assistance technologies to enhance driving safety. The performance package also adds 22-stage adjustable Ohlins dual-flow valve shock absorbers to optimize driving control.
The vehicle is available with multiple lithium battery pack options: 70kWh (CATL battery), 78kWh and 82kWh, corresponding to CLTC pure electric ranges of 554km to 780km depending on the configuration, which can fully meet daily commuting and medium-distance travel needs. It supports efficient fast charging, with a peak charging power of up to 205kW for the long-range version, which can charge from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes, and the standard version with 70kWh battery can complete the same charging range in 34 minutes, and also supports slow charging and plug-and-charge functions to optimize the charging experience. It is equipped with front MacPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, with optimized steering tuning and high-toughness suspension calibration, achieving excellent driving stability and handling performance, perfectly balancing power performance, energy efficiency and practicality, suitable for daily urban commuting and high-performance driving scenarios. It is also equipped with a heat pump system to efficiently heat the car and battery by utilizing ambient heat.
