Exterior Design
The Tesla Model Y inherits Tesla’s iconic minimalist design language, featuring a streamlined and dynamic front fascia with a subtle grille-less design, paired with sharp LED headlight clusters integrated with adaptive high-low beam and dynamic turn signals, as well as a unique integrated diffused full-width LED taillight strip at the rear that enhances its visual recognition significantly. The rear is equipped with a sleek integrated rear spoiler, which not only optimizes aerodynamic performance but also adds a sporty touch to its overall SUV silhouette. The body is available in various color options, including Stealth Grey, Pearl White Multi-Coat, and Diamond Black, catering to diverse personalized preferences.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,797 mm in length, 1,982 mm in width (with folded rearview mirrors), and 1,624 mm in height, with a wheelbase that ensures ample interior space. Its compact SUV profile, combined with hidden electric door handles and frameless doors, achieves an excellent drag coefficient, effectively reducing energy consumption and wind noise during driving. The rear seats feature an electric 60/40 split-folding design, which enhances the flexibility of storage and seating, allowing the total storage space to reach up to 2,138 liters and easily accommodate luggage and large items while maintaining comfortable seating for passengers.
Interior Design
The Tesla Model Y is equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 16-inch horizontal floating central touchscreen, integrated with Tesla’s latest infotainment system, paired with an 8-inch touchscreen for the second row, delivering a seamless multi-screen interactive and operational experience. Interior color schemes include All Black and other personalized options, meeting different needs of users. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 19-inch wheels, a full set of airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and Tesla Autopilot, as well as practical functions like Pet Mode and Camp Mode, focusing on both safety and convenience.
The higher-spec premium versions add more advanced configurations, including enhanced Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities, a 360-degree camera system, and high-power external power output. The interior is equipped with supportive ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, paired with multi-zone climate control and a HEPA air filtration system, along with specially designed acoustic glass to create a quiet, comfortable and healthy cabin environment. It also features a premium audio system with active noise cancellation, providing an immersive sound experience. The flexible seating layout can accommodate up to five adults, with a front trunk and a rear trunk offering ample storage space for daily use and long trips, and the rear trunk door can automatically unlock and lift when you approach.
Powertrain
The Tesla Model Y is available in multiple powertrain versions, including rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive. The rear-wheel drive version is equipped with an AC permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power output of up to 225 kW and peak torque of 428 Nm, paired with a single-speed fixed-gear transmission, with an official top speed of 195 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The dual-motor all-wheel drive version combines front AC induction motor and rear AC permanent magnet synchronous motor, with combined maximum power and torque further improved, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
The Tesla Model Y comes standard with a high-voltage liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of up to 821 km for the long-range rear-wheel drive version (with 19-inch wheels). In fast-charging mode, the long-range versions can reach a maximum power of 250 kW, taking approximately 15 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, while the standard-range version has a maximum fast-charging power of 170 kW, effectively reducing charging time and enhancing travel convenience for users.
