Exterior Design
The Toyota Corolla Cross adopts Toyota’s exclusive TNGA-C platform design language, featuring a sleek and robust front fascia with a large trapezoidal grille with mesh texture, paired with sharp LED headlight clusters integrated with adaptive high-low beam and LED daytime running lights, some mid-to-high configuration models have black elements inside the headlight to enhance the fashionable sense. The rear is equipped with a streamlined integrated rear spoiler, which not only optimizes aerodynamic efficiency but also adds a dynamic touch to its overall compact SUV silhouette. The body is available in various color options, including Solid Black, Pearl White, Metallic Silver, and a newly added Metallic Grey, catering to diverse personalized preferences. The high-spec version is distinguished by silver decorations around the grille and upgraded 18-inch aluminum alloy wheel rims, while the mid-to-high configuration models also feature silver decorations at the bottom of the front bumper, further enhancing its modern and refined sense. The front and rear bumpers and wheel arches adopt a large area of black plastic material to create a cross-border atmosphere.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,460 mm in length, 1,825 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a 2,640 mm wheelbase that ensures ample interior space for passengers. Its compact SUV profile, combined with neat segmented waistlines and standard door handles, effectively balances energy consumption and driving stability. The rear door adopts a high-doorframe design to improve the convenience of getting on and off the vehicle, making it easy to hold a sleeping baby to enter the rear row. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which enhances the flexibility of storage and seating, allowing the total storage space to be further expanded, with a standard trunk volume of 440L (487L when carrying a tire repair kit), easily accommodating luggage and daily items while maintaining comfortable seating for passengers, perfectly meeting family daily use and short trips. The rear is equipped with flat taillights, and the rear bumper is equipped with a silver decorative plate at the bottom, adding a touch of refinement to the overall appearance.
Interior Design
The Toyota Corolla Cross is equipped with a clear 7-inch LCD instrument cluster (upgraded to 12.3-inch for the top configuration) and a 9-inch floating central touchscreen, integrated with Toyota’s latest intelligent infotainment system, which supports AI voice interaction, OTA software upgrade, wireless mobile phone projection (CarPlay, HiCar, CarLife), navigation and various online applications, delivering a smooth operational experience. Interior color schemes include single-color and two-tone options, with large-area soft wrapping on the touchable areas, paired with delicate stitching craftsmanship, improving both touch and visual texture while being dirt-resistant and easy to clean, suitable for family use. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, a full set of airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system, as well as practical functions like keyless entry, power windows and automatic air conditioning, focusing on both safety and convenience.
The higher-spec premium versions add more advanced configurations, including a 360-degree camera system, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, power-adjustable front seats, and a premium audio system. The high-spec models are also equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip to further improve the smoothness of the infotainment system. The interior adopts a simple and practical family-style layout, with a central console design similar to the Corolla sedan, which is easy to get used to. The interior is equipped with supportive and ergonomic seats with moderate padding, balancing support and wrapping to reduce fatigue during long commutes. It is also equipped with rear independent air conditioning vents, dual-zone automatic climate control, and high-quality acoustic glass to create a quiet and comfortable cabin environment. The flexible seating layout can accommodate up to five adults, with a spacious trunk and multiple humanized storage compartments in the door panels, central armrest and center console, making it convenient to place personal items for daily use. The high-spec versions also add rear charging interfaces to enhance practicality.
Powertrain
The Toyota Corolla Cross is available in multiple powertrain versions, including gasoline and hybrid options, with front-wheel drive as standard. The gasoline version is equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power output of up to 126 kW (171 horsepower) and peak torque of 209 Nm, paired with a CVT continuously variable transmission, with an official top speed of 180 km/h, providing smooth and reliable power performance suitable for daily commuting and short trips. The hybrid version is equipped with a hybrid system composed of a 1.8L Atkinson cycle engine, 600V motor and battery, with a maximum power of 99 kW (135 horsepower) for the 1.8L engine, 73 kW (99 horsepower) for the motor, and a combined maximum power of 90 kW (122 horsepower), paired with an E-CVT electronic continuously variable transmission.
The Toyota Corolla Cross is equipped with a standard fuel tank for the gasoline version and a high-reliability battery pack for the hybrid version. The 2.0L gasoline version has a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of approximately 6.5 L/100km, while the 1.8L hybrid version has a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption as low as 4.3 L/100km, with a full tank of fuel enabling a cruising range of over 1,000 km, eliminating fuel consumption anxiety. Based on the lightweight and high-rigidity body of the TNGA architecture, the vehicle optimizes the suspension and wheelbase, maintaining excellent body stability and smooth driving texture in all scenarios, inheriting the consistent fuel economy of the Corolla series.
