Exterior Design
The AION S adopts AION’s distinctive “Human-Machine Symbiosis Aesthetics” design language, inspired by the ENO.146 concept car with vector dynamic styling, presenting a sleek “Starship” shape that combines aesthetics and aerodynamics. It features a full closed front grille, a signature design for pure electric vehicles, with the prominent AION letter logo in the center, which is highly recognizable and seamlessly connects to the sharp T-shaped full LED headlights on both sides. The headlights are equipped with delayed shutdown and unclosed warning functions, paired with slender daytime running lights that enhance the vehicle’s sense of technology. The front bumper is designed with exaggerated air intake decorations trimmed with chrome strips, creating a strong sporty vibe while optimizing aerodynamic performance. The side profile boasts a sleek coupe-like sloping roof line, with a continuous waistline running from the front fender to the rear taillight, creating a forward-leaning dynamic posture; the black-painted A, B, and C pillars form a floating roof effect, paired with hidden electric door handles that streamline the body lines and help achieve an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.211Cd. The rear is equipped with horizontal through-type “Digital Flame” LED taillights, which are highly recognizable when lit, and the simple rear bumper with black diffuser trim enhances the overall sense of layering. The body is available in multiple color options, including Polar White, Night Shadow Black, Holographic Silver, Speed Silver, and Ice Rose Pink, with some models featuring pearlescent color-changing bodies that change color with light.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,545 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm, providing ample interior space. The MAX version has a length of 4,863 mm, a width of 1,890 mm, and a height of 1,515 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm, further enhancing interior comfort. The front track is 1,600 mm and the rear track is 1,602 mm, with tire specifications available in 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels to meet different usage needs. The rear floor has a minimal bulge of only 15 mm, maximizing legroom for rear passengers; the rear seats support 40/60 split-folding, and the trunk has a capacity of 453L, which can easily accommodate 5 24-inch suitcases, meeting the needs of daily commuting and short-distance travel.
Interior Design
The AION S features a luxurious and tech-savvy interior with a dual-tone yacht-style cockpit design, creating a warm and high-end atmosphere. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch floating central touchscreen, which supports 4G network, in-car Wi-Fi, online navigation, voice control, and mobile phone connectivity functions such as CarPlay and HUAWEI HiCar, ensuring smooth operation and convenient interaction. The interior is wrapped in a large area of soft materials, with 90% soft wrapping in high-frequency contact areas, and the center console and steering wheel are wrapped in leather for a comfortable and premium touch. The seats adopt an ergonomic design with good support and wrapping; the driver’s seat supports 6-way electric adjustment, and the front passenger seat supports 4-way electric adjustment, while high-spec models are equipped with front seat heating and ventilation functions. Interior color schemes include Starry Night Black, Bright Moon White, Star Ring, and Obsidian, catering to diverse personalized preferences. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, and cruise control, among other practical functions. The higher-spec models add Level 2 driver-assistance systems, active braking, a 360-degree camera system, and a 1.9-square-meter panoramic color-changing sunroof, enhancing the in-car experience.
Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a high-quality audio system, providing an immersive listening experience; the interior is equipped with multiple storage spaces, including door storage pockets, a central armrest box, and a glove box, for convenient storage of daily items. It also comes with mobile App remote control, one-key start, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, and 32-color ambient light, creating a comfortable and convenient in-car environment that balances luxury, practicality and intelligence.
Powertrain
The AION S is equipped with a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, delivering a maximum power output of 100 kW and peak torque of 225 Nm, which is sufficient to meet daily urban commuting and highway driving needs. It is paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with an official top speed of 130 km/h, and offers multiple driving modes including ECO, NORMAL and SPORT to adapt to different driving scenarios. The AION S is equipped with different capacity lithium iron phosphate battery packs, including 46.76 kWh and 55.6 kWh, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 430 km and 505 km respectively. All models are equipped with a standard battery intelligent temperature control system and low-temperature heating function; in fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, effectively alleviating range anxiety and meeting the needs of daily travel.
