The Cadillac IQ Optiq, as the brand’s second all-electric SUV, inherits the iconic diamond-cut design language of Cadillac and adheres to the brand’s ART&SCIENCE design philosophy, consistent with other modern Cadillac IQ electric models but with a more refined and futuristic pure electric style. It features a sleek and dynamic front fascia with an ultra-wide black crystal glossy grille exclusive to Cadillac IQ electric models, paired with Slim-Line 15mm streamer star rain inline LED headlights that offer strong recognition and exclusive welcome/leave light language with dynamic flowing effects, enhancing its unique pure electric visual appeal. The rear is equipped with sharp through-type LED taillights, paired with a high-mounted spoiler and a low-profile rear diffuser, creating a strong visual impact, while the exclusive flowing charging status breathing light adds a sense of ritual and practicality. The body adopts a smooth and dynamic silhouette with sculptural contours, paired with smoked rearview mirrors and chrome window trim, complemented by alloy aerodynamic wheels that pay tribute to Cadillac’s century-old Le Mans heritage, highlighting its elegant and dynamic pure electric aesthetics. The vehicle is available in a variety of exterior color options, including Deep Space Black, Luminous Moon White, Skyline Gray, Havana Red, Flowing Light Red, Aurora Dark Blue, and Twilight Azure, catering to the personalized aesthetic needs of young fashion consumers and pure electric vehicle enthusiasts.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle maintains a compact and spacious layout suitable for urban commuting. It can comfortably seat up to 5 passengers, with ample front and rear headroom and legroom, providing a cozy riding experience for both front and rear occupants. The rear seats feature a 60/40 split-folding design, which not only improves the flexibility of seating and storage but also expands the cargo space significantly when folded flat, with a neat trunk interior that easily meets the needs of daily commuting, weekend getaways and small-item storage. As a pure electric SUV based on the IQ Ultium luxury pure electric platform, its body proportion is optimized to balance dynamic appearance and practical space.
Interior Design
The Cadillac IQ Optiq is equipped with a 33-inch curved ultra-retina display that integrates the digital instrument cluster and central control system, retaining the most commonly used physical buttons for one-touch operation, with rich display information and a smooth operation experience. The interior adopts a wrap-around yacht-style luxury cockpit design, with a skyline integrated instrument panel echoing the cockpit to present an unobstructed broad view, inspired by classic Mondrian works in design details. It is adorned with high-end materials such as high-grade brushed real aluminum trim, chrome decorations and premium leather, paired with 126-color moonlight sonata ambient lighting—through 100-micron high-precision laser engraving technology to form dot-matrix light patterns, creating a refined, luxurious and futuristic atmosphere. Interior color schemes are elegant and diverse, including Nightfall Black, Time and Space Crystal Gray, and Sunrise Light Orange, satisfying the personalized preferences of different consumers.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with alloy wheels, front and rear parking assist, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, self-sealing tires (free upgrade to Michelin self-sealing tires for a limited time), and a full panoramic glass sunroof with an electric sunshade, as well as a full-color HUD head-up display and voice control function for enhanced convenience and safety. The higher-spec versions add more high-end configurations, including wireless phone charging, a hands-free power liftgate, heated and ventilated front seats with multi-directional electric adjustment and lumbar support, as well as advanced safety features such as side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system. All models are equipped with a studio-grade AKG high-fidelity sound system, paired with 5mm double-layer laminated glass and other silent technologies, creating a quiet and immersive riding environment.
Powertrain
The Cadillac IQ Optiq is built on the IQ Ultium luxury pure electric platform, offering two powertrain options to meet different consumer needs: a standard range version and an all-wheel drive long-range version, both equipped with high-performance electric motors to ensure excellent dynamic performance. It adopts the industry’s first I96-slot 8-level flat-wire oil-cooled motor, which features stronger heat dissipation performance, higher motor efficiency and lighter weight, achieving an industry-leading 14.3Nm/kg power-to-weight ratio (torque density per unit motor mass)[3]. The all-wheel drive long-range version delivers strong power output, ensuring smooth acceleration, while the standard range version focuses on energy efficiency and daily commuting needs. It is equipped with the industry’s innovative IVROD intelligent stepless regenerative braking paddles, supporting stepless adjustment of regenerative braking intensity, which not only brings the original driving pleasure from auto racing to the pure electric era but also significantly improves the common brake nodding problem of pure electric models, effectively avoiding motion sickness of rear passengers under the single-pedal mode.
In terms of energy efficiency and cruising range, the IQ Optiq achieves an ultra-low power consumption of 13.6 kWh per 100 kilometers with optimized aerodynamic design and high-efficiency motor. It is equipped with Cadillac’s self-developed multi-dimensional battery management master, which can process more than 27 million times of real-time data per second to monitor the battery’s voltage, current, temperature and other states, and predict the battery’s working state and real-time characteristics through AI intelligent algorithms, achieving “reverse false standard” cruising range performance. The battery pack adopts a six-horizontal and seven-vertical steel beam grid structure, with nearly 99% of the battery pack shell made of high-strength steel and above, and 37.5% of 1500MPa ultra-high-strength steel, ensuring excellent safety. In fast-charging mode, it can quickly supplement power, and the battery pack can achieve a super-long cycle life of more than 4000 full fast charges throughout its life cycle. The vehicle is also equipped with an optional adaptive torque distribution system and self-sensing damping variable suspension, enhancing its handling performance and adaptability to complex road conditions, perfectly balancing urban commuting comfort and sporty driving fun. Currently, it has access to more than 600,000 charging terminals, with nearly 100% coverage of prefecture-level cities nationwide, fully solving users’ anxiety about daily travel and charging.
