The Electra L7 is a smart luxury sedan launched by “Electra,” the premium new energy sub-brand of SAIC-GM Buick. Positioned in the 300,000-yuan price range for new energy mid-to-large-size sedans, it features a number of world-first smart technologies. The vehicle is built on the “Xiaoyao” super-integrated architecture, which took five years to develop and required an investment of 10 billion yuan. The ‘L’ in its name stands for “Luxury,” while the “7” represents its full-size sedan specifications.

Exterior Design

The Buick Electra L7 adopts full-size luxury electric sedan design language, equipped with a closed front grille and full LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with LED taillight groups and aerodynamic rear bumper trim. It is available in multiple solid and dual-tone body color options. The model supports 19-inch and 20-inch wheel configurations for different versions.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5032 mm in length, 1952 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. The model adopts a 4-door 5-seater layout. The vehicle is fitted with electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and electric tailgate as standard.

Interior Design

The Buick Electra L7 is equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster and a 32-inch integrated ultra-long central touchscreen. The vehicle is equipped with Qualcomm 8775 vehicle chip. Interior color schemes include multiple neutral tones, matched with Nappa leather upholstery and metallic decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning.
In terms of configurations, the standard model is equipped with front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera, and constant-speed cruise control. It comes with keyless entry, one-key start and mobile phone interconnection functions. The high-spec version is fitted with a 360-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system. The vehicle supports wireless phone charging and intelligent cabin purification system.

Powertrain

The Buick Electra L7 provides extended-range and pure electric powertrain configurations. The extended-range version is equipped with a 1.5T inline four-cylinder gasoline range extender and rear single electric motor, matched with a single-speed electric transmission. The range extender delivers a maximum power of 115 kW. The electric motor outputs a maximum power of 185 kW and peak torque of 400 Nm. The pure electric version offers rear single-motor and front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive layouts. The dual-motor version has a comprehensive system maximum power of 440 kW and peak torque of 700 Nm. The electronically limited top speed of the vehicle is 210 km/h.
The extended-range model is equipped with a 40.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, with a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 210 km and a comprehensive cruising range of 1270 km. The pure electric model is equipped with a 95.7 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, with a CLTC comprehensive cruising range up to 720 km. The vehicle supports DC fast charging and AC slow charging functions. The model supports energy recovery and OTA upgrade functions.
