The Chery Explore 06 C-DM inherits the “Urban Light Off-road” design concept of the fuel version while integrating exclusive new energy design elements, adopting a unique mecha-style design that perfectly combines tough off-road temperament with fashionable new energy aesthetics, presenting a dynamic and robust posture suitable for both urban commuting and outdoor adventures. It features a powerful and imposing front fascia with its exclusive “Heavy Armor Matrix” grille—an hexagonal honeycomb structure stamped integrally from high-strength aluminum alloy, covered with a matte gray armor coating for a tough texture. Each honeycomb is embedded with a breathable LED light source; when unlocking the vehicle, the lights spread outward from the center like a heartbeat, paired with a glowing “CHERY” pulse logo in the center, full of a sense of technology and ritual. It is matched with the unique “Dawn Eye” split headlights: the upper daytime running light is shaped like a mountaineering ice axe with sharp corners for high recognition, while the lower main light is hidden in a black protective frame, equipped with “Tundra Penetrating Lens” that can emit 5500K pure white light and 3000K amber fog light, with a moss green decorative ring on the edge of the lamp cavity to highlight its new energy identity. The rear is equipped with a thick high-mounted spoiler and a prominent “Horizon Through-type” LED taillight group, with bionic honeycomb texture embedded in the light strip; when braking, the red light flows like magma in the rock crevices, and the turn signal imitates the satellite positioning blinking frequency, full of a sense of the future. Paired with a blackened rear bumper guard and a concealed exhaust layout, it further highlights its tough and dynamic new energy SUV temperament. The body is available in multiple personalized color options, catering to the aesthetic needs of young consumers and outdoor enthusiasts who pursue personality and practicality.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,501 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,672 mm for all versions. The 2,672 mm wheelbase creates a spacious interior space, ensuring ample legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers, effectively enhancing riding comfort. The rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which not only increases flexibility for storage and seating but also expands the trunk space to meet daily loading, weekend outdoor trips and long-distance travel needs. The side of the body adopts a rigid “fault fold line” waistline running through the front and rear, with the front door suddenly rising and the rear wheel arches violently expanded, paired with exposed-rivet wide-body wheel arches, fully showing the hard-core off-road lineage. It is also equipped with a “flat adventure line” roof extending from the A-pillar to the D-pillar, reserved with sufficient bearing space for roof racks and solar panels[3]. Most models are equipped with 18-inch “Rift Pupil” alloy wheels with two-color forged spokes in a radial crack design, paired with 235/55 R18 high-performance silent tires; the tire side is customized with “electric pulse” fluorescent strips that can reflect faint blue light at night, unique and personalized. The door is equipped with a “magnetic suction adventure pedal”, which is flush with the body when retracted to reduce wind resistance, and the CDM exclusive light pattern appears on the pedal surface when expanded, full of ritual.
Interior Design
The Chery Explore 06 C-DM is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch vertical floating central touchscreen, forming a dual-screen linkage design, powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chip, operating a smart infotainment system that supports full-time wake-up-free voice interaction, FOTA remote upgrade, and mobile phone interconnection (CarPlay/HUAWEI HiCar), delivering a clear visual experience and smooth interactive operation. The infotainment system also supports voice recognition control of multimedia, navigation, calls, air conditioning, sunroofs and windows, greatly improving the driving experience. Interior color schemes include classic black and dynamic dual-tone options, catering to different personalized preferences—black for a simple and durable vibe, and dual-tone for a more fashionable and layered atmosphere. The interior adopts an integrated wraparound future cockpit design with a strong mecha style, and the center console adopts a layered design with physical knobs for air conditioning control and a compact electronic shift lever, which frees up the central control space and ensures convenient blind operation during driving, enhancing the practicality and overall premium texture of the interior.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, front dual airbags, front side airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, hidden electric door handles and imitation leather seats, among other practical functions. The seats adopt imitation leather material; the main and co-pilot seats support multiple adjustment methods, the main seat can be adjusted forward and backward, backrest and 2-way height, the co-pilot seat can be adjusted forward and backward and backrest, and the second row seat also supports backrest adjustment to bring more comfortable riding experience to passengers. The higher-spec models add Level 2 driver-assistance systems (including full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, etc.), a 540-degree panoramic camera system, front seat heating and ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lights, a high-quality surround sound system, and a HUD head-up display, as well as practical functions such as 50W wireless charging and 220V power supply, further enhancing driving comfort and safety. In terms of materials, the interior is equipped with high-quality leather seats and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel; the steering wheel is comfortable to hold and supports manual up, down, front and rear adjustment to meet the personalized needs of different drivers. The center console and door panels are wrapped in a large number of soft materials and decorated with silver chrome trim, effectively reducing the plastic feel and improving the overall interior comfort; it is also equipped with multiple USB and Type-C interfaces, with two each in the front and rear rows, convenient for passengers to charge and connect devices, and multiple convenient storage spaces to meet the storage needs of urban commuting and outdoor travel.
Powertrain
As the epitome of Chery’s Kunpeng Super Energy Hybrid C-DM system, the Chery Explore 06 C-DM is equipped with a 1.5TGDI turbocharged petrol engine (the fifth-generation ACTECO engine with a thermal efficiency of up to 44.5%) and a 150kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a combined system power of 265kW and a combined torque of 530Nm, mated to a 1-speed DHT transmission. It achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration time of only 6.8 seconds, surpassing mainstream 2.0T fuel SUVs, and has strong power reserves whether it is sudden acceleration and overtaking on urban roads or climbing on plateau mountain roads. The vehicle is equipped with an 18.3kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 120km to meet zero fuel consumption for daily commuting; the comprehensive cruising range under full fuel and full electricity reaches 1300km, and the measured fuel consumption under feed-in power (when the power is 24%) is as low as 3.2L per 100km, balancing power performance and fuel economy, making it suitable for daily commuting and outdoor light off-road travel. Through the hybrid intelligent electric management system, the vehicle can automatically switch between 9 working modes such as pure electric, series and parallel; it prioritizes electric power in urban congestion, the engine drives directly at high speed cruising, and the dual engines output in parallel when climbing mountain roads, achieving the optimal balance between power and energy consumption.
In addition, the Chery Explore 06 C-DM is equipped with a professionally tuned chassis (front MacPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension), with front-wheel drive as standard, which enables precise steering, comfortable riding, and stable driving with anti-rolling capability, easily coping with mild off-road or complex urban road conditions. It also adopts high-quality sound insulation materials and multi-layer sound insulation glass, effectively isolating and absorbing internal and external noise, creating an immersive quiet driving experience. The vehicle supports multiple driving mode switching, with gentle throttle response in economy mode to reduce fuel consumption, and more direct power output in sports mode to enhance driving pleasure. The official top speed can meet the needs of highway driving, providing sufficient power reserve for various travel scenarios such as urban commuting and outdoor adventures.
