The Chevrolet Malibu XL is a midsize sedan produced by SAIC-GM Chevrolet. The vehicle was officially launched in February 2016 as the successor to the current-generation Malibu and is built on an all-new platform. Its dimensions have been comprehensively upgraded, with a wheelbase of 2,829 millimeters. In terms of powertrain, the Malibu XL offers a variety of options, including 1.5T and 2.0T turbocharged engines. The 2.0T engine features intelligent cylinder deactivation technology and is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior Design

The Chevrolet Malibu XL is a mid-size gasoline sedan, equipped with a polygonal front grille and full LED headlight groups. The vehicle is fitted with LED taillight groups and rear bumper trim. Multiple body color options are available. The vehicle adopts 17-inch and 18-inch wheel configurations for different versions. Conventional door handles are equipped as standard. A panoramic sunroof is equipped for partial versions.
The vehicle adopts a 4-door 5-seater sedan layout. The body dimensions are 4933 mm in length, 1854 mm in width, 1472 mm, 1473 mm and 1476 mm in height for different versions, with a wheelbase of 2829 mm. Electrically adjustable exterior mirrors with heating and automatic folding functions are equipped for different versions.

Interior Design

The vehicle is equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster and central control touchscreen. Multiple interior color schemes are available, matched with fabric and leather upholstery and metallic decorative trim. The vehicle supports multi-color ambient lighting and dual-zone automatic constant temperature air conditioning. An electronic gear shift lever is equipped as standard.
Standard configurations include front, side and curtain airbags, front and rear parking sensors, rearview camera and constant-speed cruise control. Keyless entry and one-key start functions are standard. High-spec versions are equipped with 360-degree panoramic camera system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and active braking system. The vehicle supports wireless phone charging and OTA upgrade functions.

Powertrain

The Chevrolet Malibu XL adopts front-wheel drive layout, matched with 9-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is equipped with 1.5T and 2.0T inline four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engines. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 124 kW and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 174 kW and a peak torque of 350 Nm.
The vehicle is fueled with gasoline and meets China VI emission standards. The vehicle adopts front MacPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension system.
