Exterior Design
The Hongqi H5, as a mid-size luxury sedan of the brand, inherits the classic family-style design language that combines solemnity and fashion, featuring a grand inverted trapezoidal straight waterfall grille with exquisite vertical chrome strips inside, inspired by the “high mountains and flowing water” design concept, and embedded with a penetrating red flag emblem light that lights up sequentially when unlocking, creating a strong sense of ceremony and nobility. It is equipped with sharp matrix LED headlights, with slender and elegant LED daytime running lights on the upper part that extend outward along the edge of the grille, and independent far and near light groups on the lower part, enhancing the overall sense of hierarchy and recognition.
The side waistline is smooth and straight, extending from the front wheel arch to the rear, with a slightly sloping C-pillar that creates a subtle dynamic posture without losing the elegance of a sedan. The rear adopts a simple and atmospheric design style, equipped with a through-type LED taillight whose light strip shape echoes the front daytime running lights, and a subtle ducktail spoiler on the top of the trunk to add a touch of sportiness. The bilateral dual-exhaust layout with chrome decoration highlights its power performance, and the neat rear lines further enhance its elegant temperament. The body is available in three color options: Quantum Silver Gray, Charm Night Black, and Alpine White, showing a refined and luxurious texture in different light conditions.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,988 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Benefiting from the long wheelbase and reasonable space layout, the interior space is spacious and comfortable. The rear headroom reaches 920 mm and the knee room is 135 mm, providing a comfortable riding experience for passengers of different heights. The rear seats feature a split-folding design, which can further expand the storage space to meet the needs of carrying large items, balancing comfort and practicality.
Interior Design
The Hongqi H5 adopts a luxurious and comfortable enveloping cockpit design, equipped with a 7-inch or 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.6-inch vertical central touchscreen, forming an intelligent linkage, which not only delivers an outstanding visual experience but also enhances the sense of technology. The center console is designed with a smooth line, creating a comfortable and layered visual effect. The interior color schemes include Graphite Black, Graphite Black with Pomegranate Red, and Graphite Black with Moon White Blue, catering to different personalized and business-oriented preferences of users.
In terms of materials and details, the interior is mostly wrapped in high-grade leather and soft plastic materials, matched with exquisite wood grain or carbon fiber decoration, metal chrome strips and 253-color ambient lights, creating an elegant and luxurious atmosphere. It is equipped with environment-friendly low-odor materials, combined with PM2.5 filtering air conditioning system and negative ion generator, effectively protecting the physical and mental health of passengers. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch wheels, front and rear side airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, and a 40W wireless phone charger, among other practical functions.
The higher-spec version adds a 360-degree panoramic camera, automatic parking, seat heating and ventilation functions, as well as practical features such as 3.5 kW external power output. It is also equipped with Hongqi’s intelligent connectivity system, supporting voice control, vehicle networking, OTA upgrades and other intelligent functions, and is equipped with advanced driving assistance systems including adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, making driving more convenient and safe. Some versions are also equipped with a Dynaudio brand sound system, bringing an immersive audio experience.
Powertrain
The Hongqi H5 offers three powertrain options to meet different user needs. The first is a 1.5T turbocharged direct injection engine, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, which has a maximum power output of 124 kW and a peak torque of 258 Nm, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 9.5 seconds and a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.1 L/100km, suitable for daily commuting and focusing on fuel economy.
The second is a 2.0T turbocharged direct injection engine, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which has a maximum power output of 165 kW and a peak torque of 340 Nm, with an official 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.8 seconds and a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.4 L/100km. The powerful power output ensures a smooth and responsive driving experience. The third is a 1.5T hybrid-specific engine matched with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, forming a plug-in hybrid system, paired with a DHT hybrid-specific transmission, with a comprehensive CLTC range of up to 1600 km and a pure electric range of up to 170 km, effectively relieving range anxiety.
