Exterior Design
The MG ES5 adopts the brand’s family-style emotional design language, featuring a sporty “Wind Hunter” front fascia with split headlights and a split air intake grille below the lights, which enhances its recognition and visual impact significantly. The smooth shoulder line extends from the front headlights to the rear, paired with black exterior rearview mirror shells and silver roof racks, combining practicality and fashion. The rear is equipped with a through-type LED taillight with the MG logo in the center, and a high-mounted spoiler on the top, further highlighting its sporty temperament. The body is available in multiple color options, including classic white and other fashionable shades, catering to different aesthetic needs of consumers.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,476 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. The interior usable area reaches 4.32 square meters, with 1,026 mm of headroom in the front row and 997 mm in the rear row, offering spacious and comfortable riding experience. The rear seats feature a flexible split-folding design, which not only improves the flexibility of seating and storage but also expands the trunk space to 1,423 liters when folded, meeting the needs of daily use and long-distance travel.
Interior Design
The MG ES5 is equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen, forming a dual-screen interactive system that delivers a clear and outstanding visual experience. The interior adopts a wraparound cockpit design with 2.24 square meters of soft wrapping, and the seats are equipped with a 20mm zero-gravity foam layer, which fits the human body curve and ensures comfort even on long journeys. Interior color schemes are designed to cater to personalized preferences, with a range of elegant and fashionable options available.
In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, multiple airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, keyless entry and start, among other practical functions. The higher-spec MAX version adds Level 2 driver-assistance systems, active braking, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, and practical features such as 6.6 kW external power output, further enhancing driving safety and convenience. It also comes with the Zebra intelligent vehicle system MAX version, supporting voice recognition control and OTA upgrades.
Powertrain
The MG ES5 is equipped with a rear-mounted single electric motor delivering a maximum power output of 125 kW and peak torque of 250 Nm. It is paired with a single-speed electric transmission, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of approximately 8 seconds, providing a dynamic and smooth driving experience. The vehicle is available with three CATL lithium iron phosphate battery pack options: 49.1 kWh, 62.2 kWh, and 64 kWh, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 425 km, 515 km, and 525 km respectively.
The exclusive lying battery pack has a thickness of only 110 mm, bringing an ultra-low center of gravity and ample interior headroom. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 21 to 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, effectively alleviating range anxiety and meeting the needs of daily commuting and long-distance travel.
