The Roewe i5 adopts the brand’s classic family design language, featuring a sleek and elegant overall shape that focuses on practicality while incorporating a touch of sportiness, making it suitable for family daily use. It is equipped with the iconic “Flowing Cloud Waterfall” grille, paired with eagle-eye integrated far and near beam headlights, creating a sharp and recognizable front face. The front shield-shaped logo has been upgraded to the “ROEWE” letter emblem, enhancing the sense of refinement. The naturally smooth waistline runs from the front fender to the rear taillights, optimizing the vehicle’s aerodynamic performance and making the side profile more coordinated. The rear is equipped with sleek taillights, and the exhaust decoration adopts a smoked black treatment to strengthen the sporty atmosphere, while the overall shape is simple and generous with high recognition at night. The body uses high-quality paint and is available in two color options: Bright White and Ronglin Gray, catering to the aesthetic preferences of mainstream family users.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,676 mm in length, 1,838 mm in width, and 1,491 mm in height (1,498 mm for some models), with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm. The reasonable wheelbase design ensures ample legroom and headroom for both front and rear passengers, providing a comfortable riding experience. The rear seats support full folding, which can flexibly expand the storage space, and the trunk has a capacity of 422L, which can easily accommodate luggage, daily necessities and other items, fully meeting the needs of family travel and daily commuting. The mid-to-high configuration models are equipped with 17-inch wheels and low-profile tires, which not only enhance the visual sense of sportiness but also improve the stability during high-speed driving.
Interior Design
The Roewe i5 adopts an interior design centered on practicality and cost-effectiveness, with a symmetrical center console layout that is simple and easy to operate. It is equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch central control color touch screen as standard across the entire series, with a clear screen resolution, supporting CarPlay, CarLife and HUAWEI HiCar mobile phone interconnection, which greatly improves the convenience of use. The center console is designed with simple lines, and there is a large storage compartment and a wireless charging area under the horizontal central air outlet, which is convenient for users to place small items such as mobile phones and keys. The interior is mainly black, with gradient stitching design to enhance the sense of texture, and the door panels and seat surfaces are made of high-quality materials, providing a comfortable touch.
Interior color schemes are mainly practical and durable, with black as the main tone, and some high-end models offer a black-brown two-tone option. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, cruise control, electronic parking, and tire pressure monitoring, among other practical functions. The mid-to-high configuration models add advanced and practical configurations such as Zebra Venus 2.0 in-vehicle system, 360° panoramic image with transparent chassis, leather seats, and front seat heating, further enhancing the driving comfort and convenience. The vehicle is also equipped with multiple USB and Type-C interfaces, covering the charging needs of front and rear passengers.
Powertrain
The Roewe i5 is equipped with SAIC’s Blue Core power system, mainly powered by a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (model 15FCD) with an all-aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head, adopting lightweight design and in-cylinder high-pressure direct injection technology, which effectively improves fuel efficiency. The engine has a maximum power of 95 kW and a peak torque of 158 N·m, paired with two transmission options: 5-speed manual and 8-speed CVT, and adopts front-wheel drive mode. The manual transmission model focuses on driving control, while the CVT transmission optimizes the driving smoothness, avoiding jitter in congested road conditions and improving the riding comfort.
The vehicle has excellent fuel economy, with a WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption of 5.98 L/100km for the manual transmission model and 6.38 L/100km for the CVT model, which effectively reduces daily use costs. The official top speed is 185 km/h for the manual transmission model and 180 km/h for the CVT model, which can easily meet the needs of daily commuting and long-distance travel. In addition, the engine meets the National VI emission standard, with low later maintenance costs and high reliability. The vehicle is also equipped with ABS, EBD, ESP and other safety systems, which ensure driving stability while providing stable power output.
