Exterior Design
The Volkswagen ID.7 VIZZION adopts Volkswagen’s new family-style design language for its ID. series electric vehicles, inheriting rigorous German craftsmanship while integrating minimalist, futuristic and elegant elements that fit its positioning as a mid-size pure electric sedan. It features a sleek and integrated closed front fascia with a distinctive V-shaped design, paired with an integrated IQ.Light intelligent matrix LED headlight system and a luminous Volkswagen logo, which is seamlessly connected with a narrow through-type LED light strip, creating a sophisticated, grand and technological visual effect. The headlight design draws inspiration from jewelry craftsmanship, with diamond-like cutting proportions that look crystal clear, and 18 independent high-beam LED light sources that can be independently controlled to adjust brightness according to sensor information. The distinctive linear daytime running lights and symmetrical 3D Surface LED through-type taillights with a three-layer structure further highlight its unique identity, and the taillights are equipped with welcome and farewell light animations for personalized choices. The side of the body adopts a sleek and dynamic coupe silhouette with smooth through-type waistlines, paired with semi-hidden door handles, streamlined body curves and 20-inch sporty alloy wheels, highlighting its elegant and dynamic posture, while the inward-tightening side skirts and front and rear black surround kits further enhance its sporty temperament. The body is available in three color options: Polar White, Spruce Green, and Maple Red.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,956 mm in length, 1,862 mm in width, and 1,537 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,965 mm. Benefiting from the short front and rear overhang design of the MEB platform and the four-wheel-four-corner layout, the interior legroom and headroom are extremely spacious, with an effective riding space of 1,910 mm and a rear legroom of 1,014 mm, making the overall interior space generous and comfortable, perfectly meeting the needs of family travel and long-distance commuting. It is equipped with a large hatchback design with a trunk opening of 1,036 mm, and the rear seats feature a 40/60 split-folding design, which not only improves the flexibility of storage and seating but also expands the trunk space from 521 liters to 1,629 liters, easily accommodating items such as luggage, daily necessities and travel gear for travel or daily use.
Interior Design
The Volkswagen ID.7 VIZZION is equipped with a digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch 2K floating central touchscreen, forming a seamless connected cockpit powered by the latest ID. OS 2.0 intelligent cockpit operating system, delivering an outstanding visual experience and smooth operation. It also features an AR-HUD augmented reality head-up display that projects driving information, navigation and early warning onto the windshield in a dual-layer visual effect, and is equipped with the ID. Mate AI intelligent butler with a voice interaction system supporting voice control for visible functions. Interior color schemes include All Black, Spruce Green, and Obsidian Black, catering to different personalized and usage scenarios. In terms of features, the standard model comes equipped with 18-inch low-drag alloy wheels, front and rear airbags, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and keyless entry/start, among other practical functions. The higher-spec version adds Level 2 driver-assistance systems, active braking, a 360-degree panoramic camera, a SkyView intelligent light-sensing sunroof, front seat heating/ventilation, as well as a high-quality 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system for an enhanced audio experience.
The interior adopts high-quality materials, with a large area of soft wrapping on high-frequency contact areas such as the center console and door panels, paired with exquisite stitching craftsmanship and metal decorative strips, enhancing the sense of comfort and technology. It adopts a column-mounted electronic knob shifter design unique to the ID. series, which frees up the central channel space and adds a wireless phone charging panel and practical storage grids. The center console follows the driver-centric ergonomic design with a minimalist style, reducing redundant buttons and facilitating blind operation during driving. It is also equipped with a Smart Air hidden intelligent air conditioning system that automatically adjusts wind direction, temperature and defrosting through sunlight sensors. The interior is equipped with multiple practical storage spaces, including a large-capacity armrest box, a storage grid in front of the gearshift, and door panels that can hold large water bottles, bringing great convenience to daily use. The seats are made of high-grade artificial leather, with comfortable padding and sufficient support, and the front seats are equipped with electric adjustment function in higher-spec versions, effectively reducing driving fatigue during long trips. The SkyView intelligent light-sensing sunroof with a 7-layer structure can achieve 83% heat insulation rate and 99.9% UV isolation rate, providing a comfortable riding experience.
Powertrain
The Volkswagen ID.7 VIZZION is based on the MEB pure electric platform and offers two powertrain options to meet different driving needs. The first option is a rear-mounted single motor with a maximum power output of 150 kW and peak torque of 310 Nm, equipped with an 84.8 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, offering a CLTC-rated range of up to 642 km. The second option is front-rear dual motors, with a front motor maximum power of 80 kW and peak torque of 162 Nm, and a rear motor maximum power of 150 kW and peak torque of 310 Nm, with a combined maximum power of 230 kW, equipped with an 84.8 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, with a CLTC-rated range of up to 570 km. In fast-charging mode, it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.
The powertrain adopts mature electric vehicle technologies such as high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous motors and advanced battery management systems, which not only improve power response but also enhance energy efficiency and battery durability. The transmission system features smooth power output and high transmission efficiency, and the energy recovery system can effectively extend the cruising range. The chassis adopts a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension with professional tuning, which is biased towards comfortable driving and can effectively filter road bumps. The vehicle is also equipped with an electric four-wheel drive system in dual-motor versions, which can automatically distribute front and rear wheel torque, providing a comfortable, energy-efficient and stable driving experience for users in various road conditions. It also adds intelligent driving assistance functions such as interactive lane change assist to make driving more convenient.
